the first large machine you were looking at was the Beliot C machine, which was made in bolton in 1975 I think. this was a more modern paper machine. the collapsing area you entered about 5:40 was the finishing department. all of these blue machines were slitters, which the large rolls of paper would be split into lots of 3 inch coils (ciggarete paper width.) then packaged. The large machine hall you entered at 10:00 are the much older paper machines, known as A and B machine. I reckon parts of these date back to the 1930s. The next hall you entered is known as the 'beaters'. These were basically big bathtubs, mashing the pulp up and opening up fibres. These are also from the 1930s. The level of decay nowdays is amazing, but it makes me sad to see it in such a state. Ace explore man!

I worked there,it was a horrible place to work, health and safety non existent. I got sacked before it shut down, what I believe happened is one shift went in and was told to go home, Fletcher's was in a lot of financial trouble and the management emptied the business accounts also took the employees pension funds and did a runner.
