Exploring the Canary Islands best-kept secret! (Puerto de Mogán, Gran Canaria) 🇪🇸

Puerto de Mogán is a small fishing village on the southwestern coast of Gran Canaria, located about an hour's drive (or 90 minute bus ride) from Las Palmas. This delightful seaside village is one of Spain's greatest treasures, often nicknamed the "Venice of Spain" (a title also shared with the Spanish city of Empuriabrava).
Here, life moves at a slower pace than the rest of the island. You can choose to 'go local' and explore the village culture, its beautiful canals, and bustling port, or enjoy the creature comforts at some of the most reasonably priced resorts you'll ever find on planet Earth (I paid just $65 USD for a 600 sq. ft. apartment, including buffet breakfast and dinner!).
In this episode, I spend two gloriously lazy days enjoying the vibe of this picturesque and laid back hidden gem. If you ever find yourself on Gran Canaria, there's no better place to 'get away from it all' 👍😎

I wonder what it’s been like for you traveling during the pandemic?

In the fall, it was much simpler! Things changed when the 'second wave' took off and countries started to lock down in November. I've been at home for the past two months now, editing vlogs and laying low while I decide my next steps. Pandemic travel can be safer than staying at home, at least for me (I live in an area with very high COVID rates). So, it can be a relief to me to be in an area where there is little to no COVID. Unfortunately, there's very few places anymore that are as safe as they were in the fall. If I do travel again in the near future, I'll make sure to get tested before travel, on arrival to the new country, and on arrival to any other countries.

I actually didn't find it very touristy at all! I hate tourist traps too! It was very low key and relaxing 👍 I can understand if it's not your cup of tea, though! 😂
