In this final episode of season 2, Les Hiddins sets out on foot to explore the eastern coastline of Australia's tip - Cape York Peninsula. Hiddins travels via the Jardine river across to the west coast, finding evidence along the way of cultural contacts with the people of Papua New Guinea.
'Bush Tucker Man: Coastal Story' originally aired on the ABC in 1990.

Sitting here watching this, remembering old times, remembering watching this as a kid with all the family, nan and pop, it's almost enough to make you cry. These episodes are precious to me, one of my favourite things in the world.

I hope Les is aware of how treasured these episodes are... A true Aussie legend & content that is every bit as important today as it was when he filmed it..

Great memories of watching Les . My old Dad and I used to sit enthralled by his series. . I know he's knocking on a bit by now in his late 70s, but would love to see him do an updated version of his shows. And why hasn't he been given a gong or knighted by the Crown he worked fir for so many years. The man deserves it. God bless you sir,

This show perfectly captured the outback Australian aesthetic. It's a time capsule showcasing our unique identity which is all but lost due to Americanisation.
