I worked as a ranger there for five years and it was my favourite place ever. It was a fantastic place to live and I saw that river flow so many times. The Bluff campground was totally washed away one year. Such an amazing place. Ruby Gap was stunning but so remote but worth the effort.

It’s pronounced Tre feena though.

You are not crazy! We felt the same when we visited and camped at Trephina Gorge. It is at the top of our list of the most scenic natural landscapes we have experienced in Australia. It’s the best of the secret gems of central Australia. Your words describing Trephina were our words when we encouraged others to visit or telling them of our experience.

Camped at Trephina about 10 years ago on new years eve. Dry as a chip when we arrived. Around 7pm it bucketed down, kept it up for most of the night. To our amazement the totally barren campsite became overrun with... frogs! Dozens of them, climbing the tent walls, jumping on to us. It was brilliant. The next morning the "river" was actually running. Being very hot I decided to sit down in the flow. I was rinsing sand out of my #ss for the next few days! Nice to see you enjoying it with the kids, it's the best experience for them. Thanks for the video. Brought back memories...

Another great vid where you have really captured the look and feel of the MacDonnell Ranges. And it’s true, Trephina ( as in Marina) is the best of the accessible gorges here.

Trevina gorge is great but keep going east as the east macs are a hidden gem and hardly any crowds. Ruby Gap and Glen Annie gorge are better still enjoy.

Not sure we'll get into Ruby Gap this trip. Not suitable for caravans from what we've read. Something for next time though!

@@TheLifestylePioneers we took our 14ft AOR quantum there and there was a Zone like yours camped there have fun and enjoy the glenn annie gorge we did in a day trip with the 5km hike to the gorge. may be abit tough for the little ones as it is mostly on sandy riverbed.

Cheers Wayne, we don't make it to Ruby Gap this trip as we'd heard it wasn't suitable for caravans. We'll have to tick that one off next time! The intro song is Venetian Blinds by Mattias Tell
