Droning in the middle of a suspension bridge with spectacular views, that's a major accomplishment! Also shows how areas are being impacted by the smoke, with zero impact by the fires. You had an amazing drive! You are probably right about the Indigenous lands, I bet if someone did a dig, you'd find artifacts, old houses etc.

Woohoo! My day got off to the perfect start with a new DA episode waiting for me!! I love the new intro with the nieces growing up! Having lived in the Caribou-Chilcotin for 8 years out on Dewar Lake, the views in this video were so familiar. We did a lot of exploring with our young family at the time and called the area 'Cowboy Country'. I'm excited for the next edition of this adventure!!

@@Destination_Adventure Yikes! Do they still have the fountains running in the lake? When we first moved there in ‘86 there were no fish in the lake, just lots of shrimp. Then, fisheries dumped a load of trout in the lake. The first winter they all died because the lake had no in or outlet. Really just a big puddle. So, they put in the aerators and dumped in another load of fish. While it was great for fishing, we lost the peacefulness and the loud ice cracking booms in winter. It was our first house purchase and probably our biggest regret in having sold it. But, my husband joined the RCMP from there and we’ve since moved all over the province and are now retired. Have so many lovely memories of living there and Williams Lake, or Wizzbum Lake as our eldest pronounced it (she’s now 37 and living in PEI). Gosh time flies!!
