We just discovered Jekyll Island and visited the Horton House for the first time this month. When we found the Horton House and the du Bignon Cemetery a storm was rolling in and it looked ominous. This added some great ambiance to the video which Tim filmed alone because I wasn't leaving the car. We had no prior knowledge about Jekyll Island and it's history before this visit so we didn't know the house was supposedly haunted, COOL! Thanks for the video!

I’ve been there multiple times before. It’s really cool. And yes also I’ve walked in one time and my phone battery went from 98% to 13% and the kicker is that I just had unplugged my phone from the car charger before I got out. But yes the house was burned down in the late 1750’s to early 1760’s I believe the exact year is 1762 ( don’t quote me ) by it was burned by the Spanish after the Battle of The Bloody Marsh ( 1742 ) in a act of revenge.

Are you related to Lary , Jim , Owen Horton by chance ? I am the son of James Lee Horton. They claim no relation to that house but have been on St Simon's Island for over 100 or more years. They lived on and have property all over the island. Just wondering
