The Catholic Church in Solevu gave me some beautiful memories. I've traveled there many times in my youth. This is sandelwood country, except the British felled every single adult tree in the twenty years between 1800 - 1820. It was a brutal and babaric time for the locals during the pillage of their forest. Many died. This idyllic part of Vanua Levu has some serious chaotic history. Not many know this history.

Tau is basically "tauvu" where one's ancestors can make fun of the others in a respectful way. Some say it's like your "traditional enemy" where your ancestors can beat up the other person's ancestors in a way but through banter. Basically two words put together like "tau" - competition/duel and "vu" - ancestral god.

TAU is short for TAUVU, its a relationship between two provinces, so he’s from Lomaiviti province and his Tauvu are the people from the 3 provinces in Vanualevu, they’ll call each other Tau, means they’ll pull each other’s leg, making jokes and make sure your side will always win

It be cheaper if got off Savusavu Town and hire a vehicle from there rental you drive as both drivers If not rental from Suva any rentals and take it bring it back maybe the boat fee for vehicle cheaper a bit As that side a bit expensive the taxi they don't use the meters there some
