The Quartermaster* Hey Mike! Congratulations on fulfilling your promise to sail from Lake Ontario to the Bahamas! You're in for some spectacular scenery and crystal clear waters. You'll love traveling the Banks! It won't take long to be able to eyeball the water and be able to estimate the depth. Remember Wardrick Wells. Staniel Key and Thunderball Grotto along the way! When you get to Georgetown, go to Chat and Chills and ask for Kenny, the owner. It's been over 20 years, but maybe he'll remember "Adios" from the early 2000's. Have a Klick for me! At the" supermarket" in Georgetown over the front door, maybe there's still a plaque with the winner's boat name's of the Regatta volleyball championship? "Adios's name is there!

And just like that 🤗!You're in Bimini, now it's time to cruise the Caribbean & let the stress & (smell of diesel) waft away in the tranquility of Paradise! Have you thought about stopping at Great Major Cay, where the pigs live & swim. That would be hilarious! Have an amazing day!!

Congratulations!! It's funny that a Canadian is saying it's chilly in the Bahamas! Ha. I love the detail you are providing with customs and what is required. Most KZbinrs don't get into the details and if I ever go to Bimini, I will know exactly what to do! Thank you!!

Oh My Nauticals! The Bahamas, you made it. And yes, you have inspire me to continue to follow the dream. We both are solo sailors, have/will cast off from the same area, and even work in similar industries. Maybe one day, our two boats will happen across the same island together, that be cool

amazing, thanks for sharing your stay in paradise, what fun that was walking the beaches and snorkeling in the pristine waters of the Bahamas. How expensive are the restaurants?
@sailingEV8885 ай бұрын
Its not cheap to dine at a restaurant however it's not crazy prices. To be honest I'm a budget cruiser and it's rare to eat out. However I did have the lobster at the big game club in Bimini and it was very very good!! Maybe I was starved of meals not cooked by myself. The key is nice good cuts of steak! Keep em frozen and thaw them in Paradise!! Little garlic bread and beer with a big glass of Rum out on deck watching the sun go down!! Priceless!!

If you are going to name the dinghy, my vote would be for LilEV. Glad to see you in the Bahamas Mike. My splash is less than 2 months away, and you are making me even more excited to be back in the water.

Hello from London Ontario, Canada Great videos. Just found your channel on the weekend and watched all of them and all up to date. We are doing the same thing soon. Take your time and enjoy the Bahamas. Your one video about you not getting the views. My option is 90 percent of your videos are of your face. Get an extension pole so we can see more background while your speaking or mount your Gopro 4ft away so we can see more of you talking, showing the boat and more of your background People wanna see more then your face and your holding camera 2 ft away Now you're in Bahamas hope your views go up and thanks for the great videos and look forward to seeing more.

What's up Cpt Mike! Great episode; wish you'd have told me anything can happen anytime in a previous episode ;) You are an inspiration and after being out this whole weekend with my boat Safari (HR 352) in Rio Dulce, I totally agree with everything you say got a new appreciation for how damn scary your previous episode must have been. Love what you're doing and I'm doing it myself as well and as you said; anyone with the right mindset and will can do it. Fantastico my friend!

Glad you made it there and no damage. If you want to spear fish, you can buy an Hawaiin Sling but it will be expensive. Might be less expensive to buy3/4 prong spear tip, a broomstick or alum/plastic/pvs tube for hand spear or buy a bungee cord for DIY sling. You can easily spear Lion Fish as they are not afraid, but watch out/clip the spines. No fishing at all in Land/Sea park in the Exuma chain. If you head south from Bimini you can snorkel the SS Sapona, but then going east will take you over very shallow water. Going North around N Bimini is deeper water. If you go to Berry Islands- Bullock Harbour is interesting and has an abandoned Rat Pack resort. Then you make decision N or S. S means you go SW for a while to get to entrance to Tongue of the Ocean. If you head to the northern part of Berry's you will go by Coco Cay with lot of cruise ships. Best part of Berry's is the eastern side- lots of islands, ok anchorages, a blue hole, but no services or provisions until Chub. Glad to hear you are going to take your time getting south. Is it possible you can retrieve your speargun if you pass thru Bimini on exit of Bahamas on way back to FL?

I didn’t see this happening so quickly after the bulkhead episode. But you made your dream happen and I couldn’t be happier for you. Looking forward to following the new adventures. If it suits you, would love to see a clip oh how you get on/off your dingy without a walk through transom and those davits. Would save a lot of money if it’s not too hard! Cheers captain

Why such a hurry to Georgetown ? Is your plan to go slowly up north from Georgetown later on? Bimini and the surrounding waters look great
@terrywarburton6119 Жыл бұрын
Bimini has changed so much since I first sailed there in the early 80's. Looks a little too busy, and $300 a nite for a slip! No thanks. That said, it is a beautiful part of the world! Almost like the Toronto Islands, where I spend a lot of time as a kid.
@sailingEV888 Жыл бұрын

How's the atmosphere in terms of the other sailors? Regular folks or does everyone keep to themselves? Not sure how it is at the end of cruising season here. If I was on a boat as long as you've been I'd be the most annoying guy at the beach bar talking to everyone lol.

Haha!! My alternator blew 10 days ago. It would have been 2 months to ship the one I need to Bimini. So I sailed back to Miami anf got one tested it ect.. as Im writing this comment Im 3 nm off of North Bimini! Will be in Nasau in 48 hrs!! 5 months on this boat!! Crazy!! But for sure Im going to be that giy at the beach bar!! Im willing to bet if we met in person we would be good buds.. Im totally that guy..
