Frisco sure has changed! I grew up in McKinney in the 60's and 70's and moved away from Texas. Mom stayed there until she passed in 2023. I went back home for visits. Frisco was a 1 light town. 1 cop for days and 1 for nights. Now it looks like Dallas moved in . I miss the little town that was Frisco.

Yes, I moved to Frisco in 2006 and back then you could drive 70 mph from Denton to McKinney on Hwy 380 most of the way. Now it’s bumper to bumper traffic for 90% of the drive!

Thanks for the great information! Will be sure and visit the place. Also, it's good to know about the porters and the important part they played. You have a right to be proud of the Great work and contributions your ancestors gave!

I didn't know about this museum before. Now I gotta go. Enjoyed the talk, and was particularly moved by the story about the Pullman workers. Hope to see more one day!

The F7 in the video was actually built in Canada but was never built for the AT&SF Railroad, it originally belonged to the Canadian National Railroad, then it was handed over to VIA Rail along with the other equipment part of the CN passenger fleet, then the locomotive was donated to the museum when it was originally in Dallas, it was repainted in the war bonnet livery the Santa Fe Railroad used.

Most of your steam locomotive clips, are European locomotives and trains. They never ran here in the US.

The Missouri Kansas & Texas was just known as the Katy. The "Santa Fe" was a seperate railroad, the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe. Both have an equally important role in the development of Texas.

The city of Dallas was so stupid the give this museum away to yet another suburb which is always leaching off of Dallas.

I always enjoyed looking over the trains at the State Fair every year as a kid. I miss them but they are at a much better facility now. Thanks for sharing. 😎

Yeah me too. They’re in the process of building really nice covered platforms too!

I have experience with this museum, both at Dallas Fair Park and in Frisco. I tried to volunteer at both locations and was told they only accepted volunteers who were known by the leaders. In my opinion this just a bunch of corrupt old men who want money to pursue a very expensive hobby. I would strongly suggest no one donate money to this museum until they very publicly admit what has happened in the past and did themselves of these past transgressors.
@tonygauthierjr2 ай бұрын
@@theo1113miller hmm…they asked me to volunteer before I could even finish filming the video. I didn’t get the impression that they discriminate in any way. But, your experience is your experience. I’m sorry this happened to you. ✊🏾

Did anyone else notice that the car in the thumbnail is SunBeam at Hilldean in Vermont? Not in Texas.
@tonygauthierjrАй бұрын
@@up3982trainmaster_challenger it’s actually not. I created it using AI so it’s not anywhere, including in Texas 😊💯

@@tonygauthierjr I have seen her in person and that Abraham Lincoln son took over Pullman and that was his private car. Also if you zoom in on it you can see that it says “SUNBEAM”.

This "museum" was once a 501(c)3 organization until it was taken over by some unskilled self serving individuals who effectively ran off all skilled volunteers. Widely known as the Age of Rust or the train zoo it still remains as a little known fifedom run by petty little tyrants. 😮
