It certainly is one of the most beautiful islands we have explored, at least so far

The boat is looking fantastic Tim, what a fabulous job you've guys have done. You probably do this already, but just in case... if you're heading out snorkelling or diving in the cold Scottish waters - make yourself a hot drink in the flask beforehand. Looking forward to seeing your adventures North. 😊

That is a pretty good shout, a warm cup of something straight after coming out would really hit the spot.

Is this what Scotland is like in the winter? I always imagined it more depressing but no I couldn’t be more wrong. Safe sailing :)

This was filmed earlier this year, we are quite far behind at the moment, From memory the weather deteriorates from here for the rest of the summer but there was still a few beautiful days.

How has the Rutland wind turbine performed? Is it useful and are you happy with purchase after a year? I see it whizzing around in your video.

Tbh not that satisfied. Its pretty low power so wasn't expecting that much from it, but was hoping it would go some way to offset the power drain from the fridge. In reality I am not sure it has generated much of anything. Our house bank is pretty much dead so doesn't hold much charge which isn't helping. My plan is to replace the house batteries this year and then do some testing to see what I am getting out of it. At peak performance it should be about 45w which would offset the fridge consumption, but I don't know if it is generating anywhere near that amount or if it is that is making it to the batteries, could be connection issues etc. which I need to investigate. So it hasn't really delivered to date but I am not sure if that is the turbine or the way I have it set up. Will probably cover this in a videa at some point in the future.

@joandtim Thanks for the reply. It's made me think more about getting one. A follow up video would certainly interest me! Good luck with your adventures.

@ No problem, will come up at some point in a video but might be a while as we are currently struggling to catch up on this years trip which we will need to do before we can get to maintenance. Might be something I could look at on a livestream next time I am up there.
The crew is reunited for a rough first day back...
