I love this one, especially the Taiping Rebellion, Atenism, and French Revolution stuff, on top of the idea that this is at the root of basically all Fifthist stuff. The whole “dormant memetic parasite” in a huge chunk of the population” bit reminds me of latent toxoplasmosis - now that’s some scary shit. I’ve never been a big fan of 3125 as the Fifthist God, but the author of this one seems to have that in mind.

11:58 So I did some researching, and it turns out that before September 27 2019, this article did have images, and for the case of SCP-2456-1E, it showed a pic of old native american rock art painted between 1,000-4,000 years ago in the Lower Pecos Canyonlands in Texas. Assuming we have no written records of the natives there from that period (I'm no archeologist), you gotta wonder how the Foundation was able to figure out an SCP-2456-1 instance occurred there.

As an Fyi 30 million people died in the Taiping rebellion. To give a sense of scale this was more deaths than WW1, and is estimated to be the same amount of casualties as the Eastern Front in WW2. I think the Hand is wrong about the Foundation on this one. While the Hand has been keeping the worst from happening so far, only the Foundation has the resources and experience with memetics to really fight this thing and possibly win. None of the other GOI's have *any* chance. And unlike most other SCP's, the Foundation does not seem all that interested in keeping this one around in any form. sm
