Possibly, but i actually think not. this facility was apparently built in the 1500's and the daevites wrote the book hundreds of years earlier. then again, when you're mucking around with time travel viewing it as a straight line is a big no no, so. its possible I suppose.

That’s...actually a pretty good theory. It could be possible that’s the reason why SCP-4011 can’t affect SCP-140, because if it weren’t for 140 it wouldn’t even exist! So basically a paradox or extremely hidden failsafe code inside SCP-4011 prevents from doing anything to 140! I think your theory is highly likely and possibly true

On a basic meta level, 4011 is very similar numerically to 140, one is in the 5th series of entries so its well into the 4 digits, but other wise its 1-40 turned into 40-1 with a 1 added, so I'd say there's a very strong and I'd argue deliberate connection between the two entries.

The Foundation and the SCP seem to be different, if related. My guess is before the book was known the SCP assumed the foundation was still their progenitor and thus to be protected. Of course it is necessity that pushes development so I would guess that as the Foundation was protected it stopped developing quite as fast since there was no need. Essentially...the SCP is destroying itself. With each revision it forces those who would have made it to deviate further from what they were. Maybe even making the threat it was trying to defeat too strong to defeat in the process. Basically it is a successful failure. It does what it was designed to do but utterly fails at what was intended.

Can you imagine being a historian working with the Foundation? You have access to these incredible sources of accurate historical information such as Alexandria Eternal, Robot Cassandra, this SCP, and even the History of the Daevites. You have all these sources of information that others would kill to have access to, but you cannot access them without 05 Clearance and even if you have access to it you'll be lucky to include it in an article of an Internal SCP Magazine but almost never be able to publish it to anyone else. Now I understand why so many historians turn to the Serpent's Hand or the Horizon Initiative.

It actually literally impossible to make a timeline in-universe. The O5s tasked a historian to make a history of the foundation only for the "everything is cannon" to bite her in the ass. She encountered everything from conflicting accounts of the Foundation's origins to different cannons such as Pitch Haven, Stealong Solidarity and Dust and Blood with Pitch Haven and Dust and Blood being problematic since both conflict on 682's origins.

I recently started to play Control. I am just baffled, this game could have very well been set in the SCP Universe for how alike it is to it. The FBC is very much like how we could envision the Foundation in our own world and the items of power and their files are so obvious in their inspiration. It is awesome. The crash rates because of "out of video memory" though are quite infamous.

The explanation that makes the most sense for the AI to simply not eradicate the current foundation is that it just can’t. If the AI is just code, obviously whoever engineered it can put it a simple directive to not harm the foundation in any way. Which would also explain why it only *requests* access to 140. My headcanon for why the foundation is the way that it is, is that the current iteration of the foundation is what happened because it tried to erase SCP-140, and that's why we're "too tied up" in it. This would make things kind of weird with the interaction with the MTF who remembered that war, but I think it's not unreasonable to say they'd find out a lot more differences between their memory and their own in time.

Also- my theory is that the split between OLD foundation that built the facility and foundation we know was because of all the time fuckery, from both daeva and foundation. Only people in the facility remember what was and what is, everyone on the outside go with what became, not knowing what was. Foundation isn't exepmt from that, one on Earth that is, so it might just have shot the old idea in the head by fucking up with time too much.

The most likely reason the "Alpha 1 Array" (A1A) of SCP-4011 can not "mess" with SCP-140 is that both were built from the same anomalous source. -> Trying to destroy one or the other may cause a chain reaction of "undo, UNDO , U N D O . . . reset." that would cancel all things every done by either [that would be randomly bad].
