Exploring the Tramview Mine and Cabin

Despite being sick and my voice sounding pretty raspy, I still decided to record a video of this explore. And by all means I'm glad I did! This was a really cool trip and definitely plan to return for a round 2 to check out the upper levels of this mine. Lots of interesting features at this mine including a railed trestle, aerial tram with intact towers, and miner's cabin. I explored the lower workings of this mine and it proved quite extensive. The ladder you show at the 9 minute mark connects all the way to the very top upper adit above the bunk house on the main road in. From the top, it's about 30 feet down to the next level where the ladder takes a dog leg. From there the winze goes straight down ~300ft with levels about every 20-50 feet or so. We've climbed the whole thing. Some extremely interesting artifacts on the sub levels left untouched since they're only accessible from that 100 year old ladder. Intact dynamite boxes, various small tools and equipment, a pair of jeans, and a LOT of unexpected animal bones. It was intimidating knowing once you went down the only way out was to go all the way to the bottom!

Should have went down there with ya, but while you were down in the lower adit, I was in the upper.. haha. Pretty big mine, we may need to return! Always a great explore with you my friend ❤️

thats cool. where the tram ends, i been in that one some 20 years ago, not interesting, however what seems like a mile straight back, i recall it went up and wind came down. i always wondered if somehow it connected to the union

I don't know if I would have been tugging on that piece of dynamite box lagging with a whole bunch of loose stuff behind it. Although it might be unlikely that anything would crush you, even if you got out of the way of a collapse, you might end up on the wrong side of a very big pile of dirt and rock to dig through to get out.
