Today I ventured out with Colin to look at the best collection of abandoned cars I have ever found. I have taken some trips to France and thought I was treated well, but it seems the best location was in my own back yard! Amazed to see a collection like this in the UK. Real shame the cars are in such a state, but far better seeing them like that than them being scrapped years ago. Nice video.

The rear of the ID ambulance and roof is factory, externally the roof is the only difference with the Break/Safari. More details of this car would be useful as it is a fairly low numbers production and as it is right hand drive. The red car and the green car are actually DWs built in Slough.

Sad to see so many wonderful cars rotting away . . . The ambulance is probably a 1969, cause that was the only year the head light glasses had the "chrome" surrounds in stainless steel same goes for the front indicators. On the other hand, it's easy to swap the front fenders from another DS or just remove these stainless steel parts and use them on your own car (that's what I did when I was renovating my ID/DS). The GS engine, converted to 2 double barrel (Webers???), is not a Wankel engine. It's just a "regular" 4 cylinder air cooled Citroën boxer engine - probably a slip of the tounge I think, if my memory serves me right, that Aston Martin, Marcos TVR, among others, used the CX door mirrors on some models. Get yourself a ID/DS. The most comfortable and relaxing car you can drive/travel in . . . except for noise. Every new car model is a bit more refined than its predecessor concerning NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and the ID/DS is a procduct that came on the market 1955. The engine sits halfway into the coupe, making it a front mid engined car. It was supposed to have a flat six in front of the front axle but that engine had to many issues so they had to re engineer the front end and use the long stroke Traction Avant engine but with a new cross flow head. This engine was superseded by a modern short stroke engine 1965.

There was, up till a couple of years ago as I've not been there since, a nice cream/white Citroen SM in Chalcott Road NW1 London and another I knew of behind the Millbank Tower.

Very nice video! I just subscribe to! As to the bearded😂 Really funny to see non french guys loving those car! You have to do something to own one, I did with my CX and never regret it! Maybe find the owner that surely cannot do anything since a loooong time!

This always brakes my hart. There was a time that almost nobody wanted these incredible cars . Now you pay a fortune for a Ds , SM and also Cx and GS starts to go expensive . Most of all this will be just ‘good’ for parts. What a shame to let them rot .

@@Road2Rust That'd be my pleasure! It's a series 2, so the madness got tamed under Pug ownership. The speedo and rev counter don't feature the fixed needle... Instead it's fitted with regular analog speedo and shit. Still... it remains a CX and it is bonkers. I like your videos and approach to shitboxes! Cheers mate

That unknown car (11:09) is a BMW X5 XDRIVE30D M SPORT MHEV AUTO first registered Jan 2022, its not lasted too well! I have just checked to see if its taxed, and MOT. Great channel, well done.
