People, please build new gear when you get into master rank, defender was not made to carry you through master. I don't mind people using defender but for new players it seems to create this problem where players don't get into the actual loop of the game, fight mons, collect parts, craft new weapons and armor to fight stronger mons, collect more parts, craft stronger weapons and armor. Defender sounds nice on paper but I honestly wish it or anything like it does NOT show it's face in Wilds in the future.

I haven't finished the main story content yet (Fatalis and every other postgame boss) but i tried to sos some folks. The amount of Defender gear users is scary 😭

i havent put out any SoS' but...in my defense, i spent over 800 hours between two characters on PS4. i just got a PC capable of running World, i'm looking to get balls deep into HR for my gear grind ASAP.

“Why are so many people stuck with defender?” Because the game gives you an OP weapon and gear at the start so you don’t learn how to play the game loop and just rush through the story, you don’t build anything from previous tiers of weapons so it just becomes a massive grind to get even a basic MR weapon unless you progress far enough to just craft an MR weapon outright. But more than that, people don’t know HOW to Upgrade because they never needed too.

Velkhana is also my favorite monster! Frostcraft SnS is my main. seeing you use it to fight her was great!

Also on another note, found out on most recent playthrough how cursed Velkhana's nest is with Hammer. You randomly slide on surfaces and in directions that make no sense. And walking over the same spot, in the same direction, twice in a row while holding the charge slides you one time but not the next.

Velkhana’s attacks leave patches of mist and ice that you can slide on to perform jumping attacks.

I fought the velkhana using azure star dragon dance+ Since a max player help me get velk crystal( i got 2 in 4gold invest) so i easily get that LS Now my next LS is raging brac or fatalis
