Is it just me? I become so sad that another treasure has been left to deteriorate like this. And with the shortage of housing... What a shame to not have converted this to housing (some even luxury in those penthouse suites) and mix used spaces. But all the housing! What a waste. So sad

I performed there! It was magnificent! Great memories! These resorts were created for families to come and enjoy good times while stayin in America! The food was abundant and to die for! I can't believe they just let it go to this shamble. It was massive just like ALL the Catskill resorts! The people who came in and destroyed it have NO SOULS AND COULD NEVER HAVE ANY LOVE OR CLASS! Heartbreaking to see this!

Born and raised in Ellenville, NY. I used to work on the ski lift many years ago when the Nevele was alive. I also used to visit the falls on a hot summer day. When I was younger I used to go to the golf course and collect lost balls and sell then to the players for 25 cents each. Many were retrieved from the water. I fished the lake for Blue gill. The Nevele was established by eleven teachers from Ellenville, hence the name Nevele. I remember it being owned by a family of the name Slutsky, who also owned a lumber yard near Kossar place in the village. I haven't been back in many years and it's sad to see the resort in shape. I used to hang out in the Chalet like I lived in it. I drove the snow cat many times to groom the slope also. Thanks for this video!

It was owned by Orville and David Slutsky that owned Hunter Mountain been there a few times in early 2000s before Orville's death doing surveys on the equipment to see if it was Feasible to salvage any of it for use to ship to Chile where they owned another resort. The ellenville resort was never opened by them because of state they wouldn't allow it to open as a ski resort because of environment the typical NY antibusiness BS. We moved truck loads of stuff from Ellenville to Hunter it sat in containers in a field waiting to get shipped. I don't know if Ellenville got sound with Hunter after Orville's death or not

The hotel closed in 2009.[2] A June 2020 report indicated that the "buildings remain, falling apart and with no future of reuse ... there are plans to tear down the remaining structures on the property and turn it into a sports complex."[3] The property included a once-highly-regarded 18-hole golf course and a 9-hole golf course. The 18-hole course has fallen into disrepair, while the 9-hole is being operated by Honors Haven as the Fallsview Golf Course.[4][5][6] On March 19, 2024, a fire destroyed the winter lodge, the oldest building on the property.[7]

They can send the migrants to places like these and all the other towns across the nation that have abandoned buildings. They can fix these places up and bring the value somewhat back. That's the first i would do if i was mayor or governor.

Wow, I just happened to stumble across this video. The Nevele was a fine Jewish resort, back in the day. I went with my family a couple of times and it was a true resort in every sense of the word. Kosher and non-kosher dining for the non-jews. I think the last time I was there was in 2005. What a disappointment. What a shame not to restore this piece of history. It's in such disarray I don't think anybody could bring it back to its natural beauty. There's another resort similar to the Nevele, called the Villa Roma. Like the Nevele it has a bowling alley, a little Ski Resort and so many things to do. Villa Roma is still in operation. I was just there in 2022 and that sure is a beautiful Resort it is a little dated, kind of like stepping back in time. It would be a shame if that were to close. Thank you for this video

I was under the impression someone was going to revive that place. I only live about 10 minutes away. Nice staircase. By the looks of things if nobody knew better, you'd think this place hasn't been used in 20 years. Maybe the guy (or company ) was only talking about rejuvenating the place but never actually did anything to it. Certainly doesn't look like anybody did any work to it!!
