Exploring Tokashiki Island

Situated just 20 miles southwest of the main island of Okinawa are a beautiful cluster of islands known as the Keramas. The largest of the islands is known as Tokashiki Island. We spent three days exploring Tokashiki. From Aharen Beach to Tokashiku Beach, we loved our short stay discovering the beauty of Tokashiki Island.

I loved this. The cabin you rented was gorgeous, what a lovely place to cook, read, relax and enjoy yourselves. Thanks for this sweet, informative upload. I can't wait to visit, now that international travel is about to open to Japan.

Wow you were super close to a trigger fish. Stay distant from those. They could be very aggressive and often attack

Is there a town with restaurants and food markets? Is a car required? Are beach chairs and umbrellas available to rent?

I went to the exactly same two beaches there in 2015. As far as I remember, there is no town, just one peer, several restaurants to eat and few places to stay. And I didn’t see any car rental there. On the peer, there is one bus sending travelers to different beaches. Near the beach, you can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, life vests, and other snorkeling tools. Remember bring your beach towel and your own stuff.
