Japanese people learn English in compulsory education, but we do not need English as long as we live in Japan. We have very few opportunities to use English, so we are not good at English conversation. However, since we use many English words as they are in Japanese conversation, most Japanese people can understand simple English words.
Due to the enormous number of Chinese people coming to Japan and take photos and video at once, all over the shops, Dining places without manner, many places started to restrected and banned it. I know all the other people from other countries, including you were excited and love to see how you explore Tokyo so, Please don’t feel personal. Love from Japan.

Please do not get scared by some excessively harsh opinions. You were behaving well enough with a respectful attitude as a first time traveller in Japan! I live in the UK and used to encounter some badly behaved Japanese youngsters in European cities around two decades ago. I remember feeling ashamed as a Japanese who lived locally. Compared to that, you must be welcomed by the majority of Japanese people because you are such a friendly and pleasant person. Don't worry and please visit Japan again 😊
We Japanese do not like (often hate) to be shot in videos by strangers. That is why you have to get a permission to film something in Japan. I would like all those who people shoot videos and upload them on KZbin or some platforms know this common sense.
I'm Japanese. Welcome to Japan. And you're probably allergic to cedar pollen. In Japan, many people are affected by it in February ~ March, There seem to be a lot of comments from Japanese people who point out too many details, but you don't have to be so nervous. Enjoy all things Japan.
Because Japan is an island nation, there was no need to learn foreign languages for many years. Younger generations are starting to learn English. It would be very helpful if you could prepare a translation app etc. In Japanese culture, it's not good to eat while walking or take videos without permission, but I'm really happy that people think Japanese food is delicious. Enjoy sightseeing.
In Japan, it is considered bad manners to eat and drink while walking, so there are no trash cans to dispose of garbage after eating or drinking. The other reason is to prevent terrorism.

No one cares man. Dude is just passing through and not hurting anyone. Japanese people don't expect foreigners to know any of the customs. Even if you did, you'd still be viewed as a bakagaijin.
Oli-san, thank you for the video and I'm enjoying them. One thing that I would like to tell you is, kindly avoid entering the temple with a drink or food. It is a purified place especially in the morning when the monk is reading sutras. We would like you to be devout and polite even though you are not a Buddhist and so would we in the church when we are in western countries. You are able to have some food and drink on the day of the temple fair, as they organize street stalls.
This is a valuable and nice journey for you. I pray that the conflicts between you, the boy, and us will eventually make the world a little more perfect✌

In Japan, there is basically a culture of taking your own garbage home.I have been learning like that at home and at school since I was a child. The reason why the streets of Japan are clean with less garbage is because of the high level of Japanese consciousness. Therefore, I would appreciate it if tourists could understand.😊

We study in Child time. Before visit please search own manners and respect own language. If you visit after study something, Japan will answer more study and esperience. If you have only little inteligence, will come to you only many dissatisfactions. You don't must enter in Temple with drink. It's most Respectless. In church, you don't bring with drink? in Shrine there is a sant wash place to wash hand and mouth. because hand and mouth are impulity. He is not Japanese. Because Mim is not japanese Name. Befavior and eyesline too not Japaneseself. Perhaps Chinese or Korean. If he speak Japanese ,surely we can listen mix many sound chinese pronanceation. 💦My goodness, all those delicious foods every where! I was so jealous watching it to be honest because we can't get most of those outside Japan where I live and I miss all of them so much! (I'm Japanese and live in Canada now for 30 yrs) I'm so glad you made it to the real traditional Japanese sushi restaurant with your friends. That's the true sushi experience in Japan for authentic dishes and style. It was absolutely mouthwatering watching it though. 🤤 The teen age Japanese/Korean/Brazilian guy reminded of myself when I was around his age. I'm mix with a 1/4 of Filipino but not because of my ethnic background but it's because where I grew up partly in Mexico when I was much younger with my family and then we went back to Japan afterwards. I was pretty much Mexicanized (is it a word?) or westernized more or less by the time my family returned to Japan and it was a bit of a struggle for me as well trying to fit in to Japanese society and culture although I was still young. I did all right trying to become Japanese again but as I was growing older particularly in my late teens, I had kind of a identity crisis perhaps just like that young guy you were having conversation with by Sumida river. I wasn't sure whether I was Japanese, Mexican or something else. I also became more aware about my sexuality as a gay man but Japan wasn't so open and definitely not as "inclusive" as it is now back then so I always had to suppress myself and to pretend to be as a straight man as possibly I could at that time but it was not a happy life for me. So all of that experience about my life made me think and wanted to live somewhere in a foreign country so I started to prepare myself to achieve that goal and dream myself until my whole family also decided to move to Canada but it was already when I was in my 20's. I wished I moved to Canada when I was much younger. Living in Japan where it's still a monoethnic country, being a bi racial, multi racial or returnee growing up abroad like myself would experience almost the same experience or sense of being always an outsider because majority of Japanese people would look at them differently or sometimes treat them differently without any mal intention. You also notice yourself that the way you think and what you accustom to are different from typical Japanese people. I also feel the similar way even now living in Canada after 30 years because I fall into somewhere in between Japan and Canada but I had already accepted and embraced myself to be ok to be different and especially living in Canada makes me feel safe as most of us here are immigrant from all different parts of the world. Thanks for another interesting video about Tokyo, it was very entertaining to watch an English man wandering around the huge mega strange place in Tokyo. I wished you could stay longer in Japan to the point where you could even speak in Japanese with other Japanese people but we will save that for the near future, shall we? LOL
The part of the Sumida River reminds me of how impressed meeting the Thames 15 years ago. It's one of the greatest memories for me in UK.
