We have been to Turkey run every year for the last 18 years...My kids are 19 and 20. They have been going since they were 2 years old. It is a great park, and we love it. The kids have loved the trails their whole lives. #3 is the most fun.

In the last couple of months my daughter has declared a major that should enable her to work for the DNR, and right now she is doing an internship at a state park.

@@tonysisson898 I always walk it barefoot too. You are right. The water feels so nice and cool. I also like the feel of the soft moss. It's such a great place. Excited to go again soon!

I was there a few years back didn’t make all the way around but loved it. I was in awe of the size of the rocks! They seemed to appear from no where. What a great adventure!

BOY OH BOY THAT WAS A PIECE OF MY CHILDHOOD. THAT WAS OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO VISIT WHEN I WAS A KID. IT HAS CHANGED A LOT. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO PICNIC AND WALK THE TRAILS. THAT ICEBOX , IF IT IS THE SAME ONE, WAS CALLED THE DEVIL'S ICEBOX. IT WAS SO COLD IN THERE. I DON'T REMEMBER THE SUSPENSION BRIDGE BEING THAT HIGH OR THAT LONG. IT WAS MORE LIKE A SMALL CREEK. CAROLINA CHEAPO, MY HUBBY, AND I ARE BOTH BORN AND RAISED IN INDIANA. WE MET IN SOUTH CAROLINA MANY YEARS AFTER LEAVING INDIANA. MOVED BACK THERE IN 2000 AND LEFT IN 2003. JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE HOME ANYMORE. LOVED THE VIDEO. YOU TWO ARE AWESOME. LOOK FORWARD TO MORE. YOU MADE MY DAY!

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been here countless times and I go almost every year. My family was planning on hiking there tomorrow but only a few trails are open due to the Corona Virus... I hope my family gets to go camping there this summer, and we are still planning on hiking tomorrow, though we may go to Shades or Spring Mill instead. Also, the ladders are my family’s favorite! We do that one every time we come!

True history of this park:The heart of Turkey Run was owned by the Lusk family until 1915. The State Park Commission, run by Richard Lieber, had acquired $20,000 for the purchase of the area, but the Hoosier Veneer lumber company acquired it for $30,000. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway gave the commission enough money to buy the land from the lumber company for over $40,00

Isn’t Lieber cabin on Trail 1 here? I feel like I remember that!

We visited Sweetwater Tenn. in March, and made a trip to Chattanooga. That is a beautiful area and we hope to come back in October. While in Sweetwater, we went to the Lost Sea Adventure and we drove the Cheroholla and the Tail of the Dragon. Do you have any non-tourist trap things that we should go see?

Turkey Run May 2018. The park is pathetic. There are fallen trees over the trails, bridges, stairs. Trails and maps are not clearly marked. Trail markers don't have a difficulty rating and there are no warning signs for difficult terrain ahead. However, there is an abundance of maintenance for the parks commercial endeavors. Its positively criminal that the park has not been closed for public safety.

A tornado ripped through Turkey Run in the beginning of May, taking a bunch of trees down. I wen't kayaking through the park a few days after it happened and there were lots of trees down. When I went into the park they had a sign up warning about fallen trees. I was back a month later and everything was cleared. Also, the trail markers don't have difficulty ratings but the maps do.
