Excellent Sean,... Love it when I "haunt" you down & find a recent upload! Sad seeing buildings going into such disrepair... be careful though, its concerning you do this alone! Interesting regards the UFO sighting... Its great how you manage to source all info on your locations. You also had great shots in the countryside, very flat landscape! Thanks for the explore Sean, interesting you mentioned the UFO as I used to go past there every day as I lived in Louth and worked in Alford in the 90s and one night as I left the roundabout towards Louth I spotted a cigar or saucer shaped craft across the field to my left about 150yds from the road. It had multicoloured lights around the edge that reminded me of the old rope lights you'd see at discos. as I drove on towards driby top I noticed the craft was kepping pace with my car, (Iwas doing about 60mph) and it kept pace with me up til I was passing the london road football field as you get to Louth, I then saw the nose lift til it was about 45degrees to the ground and it shot up and was gone in a split second. My other UFO sighting in that area was a blue plasma ball about 30ft in diameter hovering above the T-junction at the end of Kenwick rd. outside the lodge which was before the hotel was there. (This happened in summer of 1975 or 76 and a mate was with me and saw it too)

Thank you Andy, very interesting. I have heard of other UFO ( or UAP) sightings in the area. Also around 15 years ago, a friend of mine saw a black panther cross the road near the roundabout. Ulceby Cross seems to be a very strange place,

Always enjoy your videos, Sean. I grew up in the Lincolnshire Wolds (I live in exile in Yorkshire now) so it's a pleasure to see places I remember from my childhood, and to learn about the history and folklore connected with them. I well remember The Haywain - it was on my daily route to school in Alford - and it's sad to see the derelict state it's in now. Keep up the great work with your explorations!

Great video Sean, you did well to go in there by yourself, the place seemed to have a sinister look to it so i can well believe the ghost stories. When you mentioned imagine looking in the mirror and seeing the gamekeeper stood behind you, yes i think it's the kind of place you might lol. On a sad note i always find it such a waste these places get left to get into that sad state, i imagine it was quite nice in it's day and a few happy memories were had there (except the poor girl in the well). Thanks for another great video though, the place certainly looked spooky.

Ha ha! Where’s he gone now. I’ll tell you where he’s gone now, back to 1980, Fran’s the cat who owns the flat and knows where it’s at, with a sack on his back, while a red triangle flies aboove. 😂 We went in there for a meal just before it closed. It was reminiscent of a scene from Texas Chainsaw, run down, poor food, even a small fire burning outside in the parking lot. We were the only customers. Even the staff seemed amused anyone would be gullible enough to pay to eat there, the state it was in. But glad you captured it. After all it has played a significant role in our shared unconsciousness 👌😉👍👍👍

Are work commitments taking you to East Anglia then? I look forward to watching your discoveries there. Interesting vid but how you've not fallen through a rotten floor i don't know 😄 It was also pitch black in there, i would have been long gone. Some busy roads in that area and no pavements either. If you don't fall through the floor then you get hit by a car instead. Good find with the bunker. It's amazing what's actually out there in these fields if we look. Good luck on the east coast.Cheers Sean

Surely I saw you there?! I lived in Alford and I remember going up to that motel when it first opened (for the disco, not the motel) on the back of my mate Richard's Honda CB200. He would scare me to death at the end of the evening by hurtling down Miles Cross hill into Alford at 80+ mph after a few beers. Anyone who knows the double bend at the bottom of Miles Cross hill will understand why I was so scared. I don't know about any premature human deaths which might have happened at the motel but I left Alford in 1984(ish) so I might not be aware of them. I understand the people who ran the Indian restaurant there subsequently went on to run the Windmill Hotel restaurant in Alford, which closed down recently. Incidentally, I had a summer job at the Ulceby Cross service station in 1979 before the motel and restaurant was built. In those days it was owned by people who also owned a trout farm at Belleau. There was a tank full of trout in the huge building behind the service station and we advertised 'Fresh Trout' at the pumps. People would come in and ask, 'How fresh are the trout?' so I would take them to the tank and show them the fish swimming there. Then they'd ask, 'You don't...?' and I'd say, 'Sure. Which would you like?' sometimes they would walk away, retching, sometimes they'd point a finger. If they pointed a finger, I'd scoop out the fish with a net, drop it through a funnel into a plastic bag, then tap it on the head sharply with a 'priest'. I don't think the fish actually felt much. Then I'd hand the dead trout to the customer and suggest we settled up at the till in the service station. Happy days.

I used to frequent the pubs and discos in Alford in the early 1980s, so its more than likely that we met at some point. Well, I am no drunken stranger to Miles Cross Hill on a bike. I cringe when I think how reckless and stupid I was in those days. "Fresh Trout at the pumps" ha ha, sounds like something from The League of Gentlemen. Thank you very much for the info. 👍👍
