Haha this made me chuckle as we paddled from Pooley Bridge to the lake last week. We managed it with two of us going full pelt... just. Once on the lake it was magic, want to go back now.

A really nice video with such beautiful scenery. We were on Ullswater at the southern end near Glenridding a couple of weeks ago and it really is stunning. We have an Itiwit 2-seater but the x100 version with drop stitch floor, after upgrading from an Intex Explorer K2 recently. We are probably not the most obvious kayakers, being in our early 60's and fairly recently retired but kayaking is a newly-found outdoor hobby for us now. So far this summer we have kayaked in St. Brides Bay in Pembrokeshire, Ullswater, Coniston Water and Windermere in the Lake District and the Menai straits and Llyn Padarn in North Wales. We just wish we had discovered it when we were your age as just getting out on the water together, away from the crowds and enjoying the fantastic scenery this country has to offer is a wonderful thing.

Thank you for your kind words. We find getting on the water really helps to clear the mind and enjoy the scenery from a new perspective. Sounds like you've been on some great adventures already, how is the X100?

@@outdoorgaz5 I agree, Gaz. I felt exactly like that last Sunday when we kayaked around Tenby's beaches and harbour. We have visited Tenby many times before but on the water got a totally different perspective from the norm of walking among the crowds in the height of summer. We found caves in the rock under the island fort off castle beach that we never knew existed. As for the Itiwit x100, it's great. My wife found the K2 explorer difficult to get in and out of because she has a dodgy knee, so I often ended up kayaking solo which was not the original intention when I purchased it as my first dip into the world of inflatable kayaks. She has no such qualms with the x100. Much easier to get in and out of and incredibly stable thanks to the drop-stitch floor and wider, flatter hull. I feel like I could almost stand up straight in it without it tipping it over but don't hold me to that as I could end up looking extremely stupid and extremely wet. I also like that it is made of tough PVC tarpaulin, so doesn't need a fabric protective cover and is really quick and easy to dry thoroughly before packing away in the rucksack.

I picked up the Itiwit 100 today and I'm camping in Pooley Bridge for 3 days next week, can't wait to try the boat out on Ullswater!

Nice video I’m thinking of buying the x100 drop stich it’s a lot more expensive though but I guess worth it for the floor etc

At some point I think we will upgrade to X100 but the 100 is great fun. Thanks for watching.

Loving your work! We've just bought an Itiwit kayak and booked for a few nights at Waterside. Can't wait, it looks amazing! Which pfd's are you both using?

Hi Simon we are using single bladed paddles which I prefer. We ca t wait to get back out on the water. Thanks for watching

@@outdoorgaz5 Thanks for the reply. Sorry Gaz, I was wondering which personal floatation device you were both using? If you're looking for a nice site for the van with beach access I highly recommend Pencarnan Farm on the Pembrokeshire coast. Truly stunning.

What paddles are you using? How come you don't use double ended kayak paddles?, do you prefer single ended?
@outdoorgaz5 Жыл бұрын
We are using non brand single blade paddles we prefer to paddle like this, less water gets in the boat and on us and its just bit more relaxing. Thanks for watching.
