Yeah sorry for being MIA for so long, busy working. Most youtubers you see these days do it full time but Im still working a 9-5. This series of videos was also sorta putting a block on my creative process because there was just mountains of footage to edit to make something watchable. All done now tho and a new episode is set to release every week for the next 2 months. Then hopefully I can get back on track to making easier, one off creative videos that are easier to produce. Thanks for sticking around!

Nice video Just my thoughts, but when you mentioned the semi trucks parked and idling at the rest stop were causing noise and “pollution.” Noise…yes, but the pollution part of that isn’t really true. When semi trucks are idling, they are actually running on mostly air, and burning very little fuel due to the high compression ratio of their diesel engines. At idle, the engine only needs to suck air to keep running, while burning very small amounts of fuel. The amount of fuel burned is so little while idling, it allows them to idle all night long and not run out of fuel. In addition, semi trucks newer than 2002, have EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) systems. This means that part of the exhaust emitted by the engine is recirculated back into the engine to be burned again, resulting in cleaner exhaust coming out of the truck. Semi trucks also have other emission systems as well, including DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) and DPF (diesel particulate filter) systems. They all work towards significantly reducing the “pollution” that is coming out of the truck, a lot more than you would think. To summarize, you shouldn’t be worried about pollution when parked next to semi trucks when idling. The noise factor I totally understand, I wouldn’t be able to sleep either!

Interesting to know. There was definitely a heavy smell of exhaust at the one I was trying to sleep at (Before I moved to the middle of nowhere spot in the video), but who knows, maybe it was just a guy running a separate generator or something. Some of the stops actually have the car area far from the truck area, but that's the exception. Most of the stops have the car area right next to the truck area and it's not a great place to sleep at all. The areas sure are great however during the day to take a rest break from all the driving
