I've always liked the smaller scales way more. It's so much cheaper to get an army together and with todays technology the detail really isnt lost at smaller scales.

I think 40K works better at smaller scales such as 6mm up to 15mm. Personally I don't think it works very well at 28mm.

Good to see the Good Word of 15mm spreads, I'm currently working on 15mm British and German Forces for Bolt Action myself, but 40k with Vanguard and onslaught is up there on my list. How are you basing them? I personally use 19mm Washers and/or Strike Plates. About the same size as a US Penny, but tend to take to magnetization better.

@@SwordlordRoy basing depends on the rules I'm playing. For 40K I'm using 20mm round bases from Renedra.

I saw another KZbinr 3D print two full AoS armies and build a board as a sort of travel set; he worked at 50% scale which inspired me, I only now discovered that that was 15mm scale and thanks to you, that there's a community. I might take another look at printing a 15mm space marine army, I might have to either look specifically for lower detail models or enter the waters of digital modelling.

@@irregularmagazine I'd recommend going down the resin printer route, especially for 15mm stuff. The difficulty curve may be slightly steeper at first, but print quality issues are much easier to diagnose.

I have a ton of the old Critical Mass figures and vehicles, they are great! I have thought about 40k in 15mm but prefer the look of OPR or Xenons Rampant

Try Alternative armies 15mm Ion age stuff. They will work for 40k.
