@@serriajohn you are wrong. no matter what, the father has the final say in the family. there is a system called 祖籍 zu ji in china where it is a patrilineal family tree of the members of the family. if she does not have the approval of the patriarch/ paterfamilias, she will not be able to put her name on the zu ji, thus not considered a member of the family.
