Gambeson armor sold by clothiers is so incredibly useful! it really makes it to much easier to survive predator attacks, loot ruins, etc... They sell it pretty cheap too, imho They also sell cloth wich early on helps get bigger inventory (linen sacks) and later on helps build your windmill About torches going out: I just put one torch in a hand slot and the others in one of my bag-slots, so it's no big deal when one goes out. Takes another slot of course but I think it's usually worth it, certainly while you dont have a full inventory anyways

Your musings about the icon on the translocator are accurate--they just reskinned the "metal parts" you need in order to start fixing them. There is probably a "large pile of junk metal" next to the TL that will probably break into some metal parts to fix up the TL.

Too bad you don't continue past the first year. By this you miss the fruit trees mechanics...

14:15 In my opinion, a full suit of gambeson is far from nothing.

so I notice you're not using waypoints or the minimap. is that a personal challenge to not use that feature? part of [gritty realism?] it's okay if that's your choice, but my memory is trash so I rely on it..

He is playing in Wilderness Survival mode. That mode doesn't have map by default.
