Exploring Abandoned Mines

Exploring Abandoned Mines

Күн бұрын

We made it through the collapse at the #2 shaft. After a year of removing 1600 loads of waste rock we finnaly cleared the shaft! Now we can timber the shaft and take people under it to the rear sections of the Yankee Boy Mine.
This is a fast paced and exciting Mine Exploration Channel. We have been in hundreds of abandoned mines in Canada, United States and Mexico. Recently we have purchased our own abandoned mine the Yankee Boy Mine! We are rehabilitating the mine so the public can explore an abandoned mine for themselves safely. Join us underground and we will show you things no human has seen for decades! A fast paced, exciting channel that will not bore you. Visit our website exploringabandonedmines.com for directions, exciting pictures and merch.
We have recently purchased a mine called the Yankee Boy in Grand Forks BC, We are restoring the mine so we can take people for a tour of an underground mine . It will be open in the spring of 2023. For more information on the history of the Yankee Boy Mine go to minfile.gov.bc...
Visit our mine exploringabandonedmines.com
Mines are being filled in, demolished, and/or collapsing at an alarming rate, so it is crucial to document them and save these artifacts while it is still possible.
This is all about mining and mining exploration. Join us for our weekly adventures as we go deep underground into historic abandoned hard rock Gold, Silver and Copper mines. We relive the Prospecting, Gold Rush days, going back in history with every expedition. Visiting abandoned and forgotten places, climbing down mine shafts into dangerous mines, finding treasures, seeing antique heavy equipment such as ore carts, crushers, milling machines, ball mills, explosives and other mining equipment.
We have a new website site exploringabandonedmines.com once there you can see how the mine is doing, support the channel and buy merch, we have stickers, hats, hoodies, t shirts and mugs. New items being added.

Sharon, Frank was not trying to run you over, at least it may have looked that way, but he loves you. Here she comes, the Queen of the ropes. WOW, that came down like a waterfall, the light on Frank was almost blocked out by the dust. Hope coming back is easier. Yep, Sharon was clipping down that rope, hey speedy. I can hear the air blowing down that chute, wow. You struck it rich, hurrah. Clean-up and block that opening, smooth sailing Progress and success! Beautiful. Been watching to see this point of progress. That makes you both happier than a bunny on clover.

Hi Frank, hi Sharon, thank you so much for your effort and your time that both of you have in making this videos. I used to watch all the videos back in the old days when the channel was small and eventually got off of it. I only found all of it a few weeks ago and had some catching up to do. And to be honest, mine exploring was and is cool, but the Yankee Boy is by far your biggest adventure. I love watching you guys mucking out the shaft and as far as I'm concerned, the videos could only show that and still woulkd be interesting enough to watch. Luckily for me you still have the third shaft ahead of you. 🤗 I would have loved to have flown to your place in BC and helped you, I've actually been there before and it was beautiful. But at the moment the way from Germany is simply too far and too expensive. I tried to do you a favor and let the playlists run in the background to generate views for you. A few thousand should have come together by now. I hope that it is useful to you and that you at least get something back in return. At some point I'll come over and visit your museum and the mine. My Canadian travel permit is still valid for a few years - you have to take advantage of that. All the best to you both, many visitors and good luck in all your adventures.

Great work you two! It looks like you need to give those stulls a good thump to jar the loose scree down the shaft. Someone with a scaling bar poking the scree could get it to fall safely. Once it is down, then you only have to worry about fracturing occasionally.

I almost wonder if you "suited up" and doubled up on eye and ear pro, if you could take your shotgun and put a few slugs into that loose stuff on top of the beam to trigger it to fall. a few well placed powder actuated pokes would probably do the trick of dislodging it. my biggest worry would be that the report also triggers something behind you

A fast way to split rock is to use a water saw and in the saw cut, to put those air jack pads you can buy to lift heavy things with. Pop a couple of them in there, pump them up and the rock will split. Not my idea, saw a guy who was clearing his access road up a mountain do this.

If you can stick 3-4 dynamite to a wooden pole and sit on that unstable stull it save you from any risk and let come down this hanging muck! I do rehab 11 years ago, underground as well and pushing ore cart and build chute, I deal with same stuff, rotten timber full of muck behind, and we not allowed to use any explosives at that time, cable knot around stull and pull them with the slusher lol.
