This are plecos. They are not native to india. Someone might have released them in river when he was unable to handle it becz of its size. Itz my request Dont release it in river it will destroy the ecosystem of river. Plecos are good and beautiful only in aquarium but not in natural water sources.❤❤❤🎉

I think common pleco is not endemic to water bodies in Assam. And getting this fish from local water bodies is a cause of concern. It's an invasive species and will prey on all smaller endemic fishes, their eggs, fry, and destroy their natural habitats. Common pleco is banned in many states and hobbist must not release them in local water bodies. Request you to also inform Assam Fisheries dept about it and request them to take steps to catch these fishes to save the biodiversity of Assam's natural water bodies.

As your channel has a lot of subscribers, request you to make an awareness video of this common pleco fish and how harmful it is to release them in natural water bodies. This will help in educating the new hobbists and help in ensuring not to release the fish in natural water bodies. Instead hobbists can keep bristle nose pleco, which is much smaller in size. A thumb rule is not to release any fish in water bodies that is not endemic to that particular region. 🙂
