First time at the Pride Canal Parade, and what a time I had! Let me know what you think about the responses to the question "What does Pride mean to you?". And if you enjoyed the video, it'd mean a lot if you shared with someone😃

I think pride to me mean equality and just being happy with who you are

Don't know if you noticed it, but at 2:22 the woman in the front of the gemeente Amsterdam boat in the pink dress & wearing the bulky necklace is the mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema :)

Volgend jaar zou je echt de Rotterdamse carnaval moeten bezoeken. Heeft wat weg van de Braziliaanse en Rotterdam is sowieso een aparte stad, zeker in uiterlijk. Battle of the drums is echt heel tof.

Yeah, being human would be so much easier if we'd simply love each other I'd say. However it is culturally spoken all over the world that we are taught to think in "us" and "them". No matter whether this is because of religion, race, sexual orientation, political considerations, you name it... This is another way of saying: the people that are inclusive and the people that are exclusive. And exclusive may be nice for a product, but it isn't when you're human. So the source of the disturbance in our thinking basically is fed by our upbringing, which is culturally determined. The stronger people believe in a culturally offered religion, or a political consideration and so on, the more radical they are in thinking in "inclusive" and "exclusive". So if we'd like to change this way of thinking we've got to get rid of a few things in our cultures all over the world.

I love the message, Dutchy J!
@magical5181 Жыл бұрын
That’s a horrifying message, you want to get rid of bits of culture? Something that people cherish and makes them proud. That’s an awful idea, one thing we must understand is that humans are evil beings. And that world peace will never happen. You must learn history in order to understand how f*cked the human species is 😂

Lot of party,instead of protest🤔
@exploringtheforeign2 жыл бұрын
People on the boats had signs that I would say were protesting as well :)
@petervrooden98492 жыл бұрын
Pride is the party. The more political/protest part is the week before Pride with the Pride-Walk. And Pride Amsterdam isn't even the official pride. That is on Pink Saturday in June.

It means I go another year knowing I fit in better with straight football players than the gay community.
