On the topic of Basmalah Dr.Sohaib Saeed talked about, this is I think the greatest example of how muslim should at least be aware of the close relationship and textual, or even liturgical, dialogue between Islam and earlier religions. Basmalah is most explicitly a refelction/reaction to Trinitarian formula, especially in light of Ahmad Al-Jallad's recent discovery of the South Arabian bipartite Basmalah epigraph.

I definitely agree with this speaker about the 10 forms from the orientalists being useful. The whole زيادة الحروف زيادة المعنى seemed overly simplistic
