Josh, i really wish you would wear a mask while exploring houses with black mold. Our friend just died because of black mold. He was 57 years old. He was feeling great and all at once he collapsed because his lungs collapsed. He was taken to the hospital but they couldn't save him. He never smoked a day in his life. I really enjoy the video. Hi Josh! Happy to see some exploring videos again. My grandparents still own their farm in Illinois that was in the family since the 1800s. It's abandoned now but that had me thinking, have you ever touched base with any of the families and found out any of the stories from the abandoned places you explore? I think that would be cool. When I visit my grandparents they let me go in the old farm and it feels so weird to see it in such disarray but remember all the memories from when I was a kid.

Hey Josh, a few things: • 5:41 - MOLD - You should be wearing a mask/ventilator. The mold spores can get into your lungs. • 6:12 - PROCESSOR - Just as it's named, it processes food. It dices, grinds, kneads, shreds food. • 9:26 - WINE - If it's still sealed and at a cool temperature, the wine could still be drinkable. • 26:00 - CARPET - Someone might have died in that spot, that's why they removed part of the carpet. • 27:10 - TRASHED - Doubt that was done by the owners. Most likely done by other urbexers. • I'll never understand how the families can just leave everything behind. • With all of the mold and structural damage, I seriously doubt that house can be saved. 😇

Tho the house itself didn't seem to have to much mold and structural damage, mostly the basement would need a lot of work, the rest looks to be ok so that house should be saveable aslong as you get the basement good first😅 and most of the furniture is still good(except basement) so would guess house is kind of good

Looking at the damage, this was most likely abandoned due to water damage. The way the walls and floors are half removed upstairs tell me there was a major plumbing leak, likely from the tile shower with a hole cut out. It would also explain the wall and ceiling damage to the lower floors. Once a house floods like this, it’s a race against mold, and they must have lost the fight (or insurance deemed it a total loss). Fantastic house, thanks for sharing with us!
@qtastically574711 ай бұрын
Even then, how weird is it that they’ve left all that wooden furniture there.. Surely they’re worth a pretty penny. Maybe there was some disagreement in regards to splitting the inheritance?
@nowsynowsy13 күн бұрын
@@qtastically5747I'm in real estate and it happens often when people sell and inherited house. Heirs already have their homes and no space to fit furniture they may not even like so it stays there till they decide to sell. We also ask to leave furniture in, as it helps people gauge the rooms dimensions (and if it's nice furniture sometimes the buyers ask to keep it so win win for the sellers that don't have to pay someone to dispose of it or do it themselves)

I went to interior architecture school for 5 years and studied furniture for 2 years. The interior paneling looks like either Blackwood, walnut or purple heart. (Paneling in the 60s was very trendy and common). Walnut is extremely expensive and not for people without money. Dining chairs/table chippendale 19th century Rococo style (Cabinets were director style), and some of the lamps were arts&crafts / art nouveau style (curvy sexy lines with love for nature). There was that gold chest which is a French baroque (Louis XV) style chest (remake), but today those chests are worth thousands to remake. Original chest in the 1700s, were made by Pierre Gole/Charles Boulle and are worth $100K-$200K. Rococo styles is an appreciation for Asian design, that’s why you see Asian art in their furniture. It is a mixture of different styles, so they have an appreciation for beautifully crafted objects from the 17th-early 20th century.

Josh the list of rules for the house as well as the punishment rules were given to the nanny so she could tend to the children and not bother the parents with such things . I read this on some paperwork I was given once . Along with a lot of other odd things that were to be completed As part of the duties for the nanny position . When I asked about it at the interview i was told that this is what a nanny does along with other duties ,but that all rich families were different . I mean I understand the nanny is supposed to take care of the children , but I didn't like that idea of the nanny doing the disciplining . I believe that the parents should be the ones that take care of the discipline when it comes to the children not the nanny. Figured I would share that with you hope it helped .

I know you get a lot of comments but I am paused at 13:55 on your video. The paper you are looking at is the South Carolina State Paper. "The State" And the Palmetto Tree in the center is our state emblem as we are known as the Palmetto Tree State. And it is of great interest to me because my father was in Vietnam at that time. I won't go into a lot of detail regarding his service but I had already begun crying prior to seeing the paper when I saw the photo of the young soldier. My father is still alive but I am very proud of him, it took him many years to overcome and deal with the aftermath of that war. I am very curious about that now. I know a good bit of history during that in SC. My family has some correspondence with a very influential political figure during that time. It's crazy how big yet how small this world can be. I love the house so far. I hate to see the floor so messed up. It almost looks like a fire or horrible leak.

Josh, there’s black mold all over those spaces where there’s water damage. You should really be wearing a mask so you don’t get sick!
