When you have guys in the water there should always be someone on the boat watching out for anything going wrong.

Closing off the suit's dump valve & over-inflating the drysuit is always a backup option if you have a wing failure, just keep those feet below the waist if using that option. You can always neck-burp the suit in a pinch if the valve sticks closed. Stay safe guys.👊

I’m glad that you are okay. The sign you found could possibly be a stencil for marking the companies crates , they could use ink rollers or paint to mark them.

Geez, that was one heck of a scare.😬 I felt a knot in my stomach while watching you struggle, knowing that these could have been your last moments. It's crazy how things can be fine one moment and life threatening the next. I don't think people in general really believe that until it happens to them, or someone dear to them. I am so very grateful that you are okay. Sending hugs to you, Candace,& the kids.💕

Glad your alright 👍🏻. I almost drown in my friends swimming pool when I was 13 years old. I was a fish and always swam when I was young but that day I slipped on the inside sloap of his inground pool and panicked. My friend had to jump in and save me as I forgot everything to keep me afloat. I am now 45 years old and have never been in a pool since. I wish I had your courage and mindset to knowingly correct what you did wrong and enjoy what you do. Stay well, stay safe and thanks for sharing your story!

I think it’s very easy to be complacent when you do these things often and a little shake up is a lot better than heartbreak for someone and this video just might make someone else think twice- these things work in mysterious ways- but glad it’s not stopped you and you are 👌

I never dive without fins. You listed at least 5 reasons for fins. Worst come to worst, as long as you have air, go back to the bottom & crawl to shore if you can't drop your goodies or extra weights. A back-mount BC will always push you face down so I never fill it, only enough to float me so I can lean back and kick to the boat/shore. Glad you are safe.

When I saw this originally, I couldn't figure out why you didn't just surface. After all, one of the first things you are taught is to follow the bubbles. Hi, Jeremy. I'm really glad you decided to have the Waydoo Subnado with you that day. No criticism from me about what happened that day as you've already figured it out, and I know you'll take the necessary precautions next time. It was good to see Michael (@nuggetnoggin), albeit briefly, and like you, I did like the bottles. The Lummis & Co sign looked more like a stencil for crates or sacks. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe 👍

I have a friend who grabbed the wrong weight belt from the wrong dive bag and went straight down as it was too heavy. One hand across the chest other across the forehead and backwards off the boat and straight down. He'd normally bob around on the surface, check his air, tap himself on the head then drop under water. He had to drop the belt to get back up. He had a freight as it wasn't expected. Good to see youre ok.

That sign looks like a stencil. My Dad is a farmer here in New Zealand and uses a similar style of stencil to spay his branding on bales of wool before sending them off. Peanut bags/sacks would've needed marking in a similar way. The hole in the top right would be to hang it up from a hook (or a nail as my Dad does) when it's not in use.

Something very similar happened to me. I was extremely over weighted. I had my dive kit on, ready to go. Once I began to sink due to the weight, no matter how hard I kicked I kept doing down and thats when the panic set in. I didn't want to drop the weight because there were divers below. Finally I broke surface and spit my reg out still in a panic and began gulping water. Panicking in the water is no joke. Glad you made it out okay!

Jeremy... maybe a different style BCD like a vest style would make it easier to float.......Its hard to remember when you are panicking, but always remember as a last resort you can unbuckle your BCD vest and.. ditch your gear but only if your wearing BCD weight pockets.. If your wearing a weight belt, ditch that first then come out of the bcd vest and all your gear...then you atleast float on top of it

Wow, I'm glad that ended well. I'm not reading through 673 comments to see if someone already said this, but I think instead of a sign that is a template for painting on the outside of a shipping crate.

Close call. The wing BCD’s are hard to float with. It’s taken me a LOT of dives to get used to figuring out how to get flipped onto my back. I’m glad you got back in and figured it out. That scooter looks cool. It’s way smaller than mine and looks pretty sweet.

Glad you're ok.... People think that diving is easy & relaxing, it's actually hard work.... I miss my diving days, but I don't miss the total exhaustion at the end of the day....then having to clean the equipment, you don't "do it later". Not to mention, river diving & open water are two different animals!!! I did more open water.
