in many ways video footage from this era looks alot better than your average phone video, what really affects the quality of the old footage we see today is how they recorded it digitally for us to watch on websites such as youtube.

@@8K240hz Really depends on the medium and camera. In the mid 60s they started going from actual film stock to magnetic tape for smaller cameras. Anything on actual film can be scanned and cleaned up and restored even to HD, especially if it was filmed on a good camera with good film stock. Phone cameras are not going to compete. Anything on magnetic tape will look bad and very hard to look HD.
What an amazing footage! Expo 70 Osaka must have been impressive in its time, the site is huge. I visited this site a few years ago and was very surprised, it is a shame that nothing has been preserved except the enormous sculpture. I am convinced that Expo 2025 will be equally magnificent.
