Wow! Calculators have changed by 2020. All the log to base 10, 2 any value is available.

In your final example you had e to natural log of 2 to X and then took the natural log of both sides. Would e and the natural log of 2 to X not cancel to 1 without having to use natural log a second time?

what would you put for X if it was for "today".

I guess it'd be time from the beginning of the day (12:00am) to the current time. For example, if it was 3:30 in the afternoon (3:30pm), and your unit of time was hours, 'x' would be equal to 15.5 hours. Ot "today" could be one day, 24 hours...
