Wow thanks for the video. Since getting a camera with open gate video recording and wanting to keep the video dimensions after export in FCP, this seems like the solution. for 3:2 aspect, FCP by default maxes out at 4096x2701 for exporting in hevc hdr, no matter the project resolution

Make sure your resolution matches the resolution IG recommends and also idk if it’s just me but I believe that color grading on Adjustment layers works out better than on the main clip. Oh and also if you do any noise reduction make sure it is reducing noise in the actual clip and not the color. So for instance if you happen to change the exposure or any form of color grading pull your noise adjustment above any color grade or effect adjustment. FCPX reads all the adjustments from top to bottom so that will help. I hope this helps a bit. And I have been exporting for “computer” and I haven’t seen any issues

Hi Serge, is there a benefit to doing it this way as opposed to uploading the master file to KZbin and let KZbin compress it. I heard if you compress it, KZbin will compress it again regardless.

Nice video! I've been thinking about something you've said in this video. Which is" you can batch a project and work on editing on other projects or this one you just batched" I literally couldn't sleep because I didn't understand it haha.. why would batch something if you're not done editing? Wouldn't that make you have a file with the old editing? Maybe it's something I haven't figured yet :)

Sometimes you need to have the video available for someone else to review, but you still need to continue editing. So you have a sample, and then you will continue making more versions, or the final cut (haha).

Hey Serge - I had a project at 1080P that I needed to render. I set up 4 compressor presets with different Bit rates at the following rates 13000, 8000, 4000, 1000. When I rendered the same project through all 4 presets all of them came out at the same file size and almost similar in quality. Would you know why the file size would not decrease when using the lower bit rates.

Can you send a project to Compressor... and then CLOSE Final Cut Pro... or does it have stay open the whole time? I am not so interested in using Compressor so that I can export, and continue working in FCP. I want to be able to export projects... and be able to... watch KZbin... and just... do other stuff on my computer while the project exports. When I try to do this with FCP... if the project is large... it will sometimes "Fail". I am hoping Compressor might prove more reliable.

Once you have compresses the video, and it says complete, where does it go? I tried opening a completed video and it said the file wasn’t available. When I went back to the current page, the project is there and when I played it, it was dropping frames as I had changed it to optimized original on fcp before I compressed it. I’m totally lost 😢

Hi, Serge, Can I ask you a question? I purchased the compressor after watching your video. My final cut project is 4K, 60P, and I firstly render it into MP4 like what you said in your other video. It is 2.96 GB. Then I used compressor, I changed the data rate to 68000 given it's 60p not 39p. Then the video was 3.57 GB, way bigger than the MP4 video. I uploaded them both to KZbin, the process time is the same and the quality is the same. I think Compressor maybe not that useful in my case? Do you know what's going on? Thanks

I’m using 30p only drone footage and when I speed ramp a lot of blur happens and can’t work out why only happens on speed ramping may be something to do with optical flow in FCP ..the compressor doesn’t like a shame really as I thought the compressor was the king of exports
