Last year I contacted the the relevant UN dept and the DAG Library and I have all those historic documents in my email inbox direct from them . They scan them all in and sent them to me and it reveals that they absolutely knew what they were doing . It wasn’t a matter of leaving when they realised they had made a mistake . They left once they were exposed and then lied as to the reason , which was not a justified reason to have joined anyway . If you behaved like that in a Judicial committee, you would be disfellowshipped for lack of repentance

WT apologists like to explain away WTs NGO status with the UN as necessary in order to gain access to the library. Not true. What you just posted here backs that up. WT was _already_ using the library prior to 1991, so there was no reason to join the UN as an NGO. Besides, considering how WT has viewed the UN for decades, it doesn't matter if the UN had the greatest library in the world. That fact could never justify joining the UN to use the library, even if that was true.

JW association w UN was one of the very first facts I ran across once I jumped the fence to research. I remember being in shock it was difficult to process bc I too realized at this time we were studying the Revelation book! The fear the society instilled in me was difficult to overcome I had so much guilt….. that was March 2024. Now in October I’ve discovered so much deception I’ve become conditioned…. Waking up from indoctrination is a very unique experience. Now I understand why, some years ago, a bethel trip and tour planner, an elder, would d always take the tour bus of witnesses to the UN building for a tour even though that tour was not listed among the itinerary of the daily tours. I often ask JW to read their favorite text about the Governing body in Mathews 24:45- together. They always stop after verse 47...but I say that we should read the rest of the chapter and ask "what are the sign that the governing body is a good slave and as Armageddon is late...what could be a sign that they could be an evil slave?". I ask them to think about it and that I'm curious about any examples of possible signs of evil? I often say that I will be back to discuss good and evil signs... This is a perfect way to make them look at the whole context and what the whole passage says, not just a pick!

@@donbowwow There's another reason there was no appointment in 1919: At that time, WT taught that Jesus returned in 1874, meaning WT wasn't looking for Jesus' return in 1919. According to WT, Jesus would return and 3.5 years later would inspect the earth for his true servants. If he returned in 1874, that time had passed. Another claim of WT is that the Bible Students were the only ones on earth anticipating Jesus' return in 1914, so of course he would choose WT as the true religion. That's a big lie! No Bible Student/JW was looking for Jesus' return in 1914, because they all believed he had returned 40 years earlier.

I always ask the JW's to read the entire chapter 24 of Matthew, and compare the illustration of a "faithful and discreet slave" to the predictions Jesus made about the events during the conclusion of the system of things. I ask, " did Jesus here predict that there would be a group of men that he would call a "faithful slave"? Uh, NO. Did he foretell the existence of a class or group of people; be it men or women; that would appear and would be the only source of his disciples gaining knowledge of him and Father? UH, NO! In the prior 44 verses when Jesus made "predictions" or "prophecies", he always used the expressions, "and then there will be", or this or that will occur", or "you will see this or that", etc. 19 times! So did Jesus employ this illustration as a PREDICTION? AS A PROPHECY? NO! BUT JW'S NEVER ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN TRAINED TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES; BUT HAVE ALLOWED A BUNCH OF MEN TO IMPUTE AN EXEGETICAL INTERPRETATION of the parable above and beyond what Jesus' OWN WORDS say! If you continue reading on into chapter 25 of Matthew you see he gave 2 MORE PARABLES; 1 OF THE FOOLISH AND WISE VIRGINS AT A WEDDING; AND 1 OF A SHREWD AND UNWISE INVESTOR! THEY WERE PARABLES! NOT PROPHECIES! NOT PREDICTIONS! They were just another object lesson for Christians to stay awake to the times, and maintain their spiritual vigilance! Jesus would always teach with illustrations; making him the master teacher that he was. This account is no exception. (Matt. 13: 34) I agree with your approach, @larstenfaelt1859; because if any honest, critical thinking JW (which are few and far between) actually looks at the accounts describing the Pharisees; one realizes that the governing body has become EXACTLY like them!

I for myself been absent for 16 years. 2007 is when I left. BUT I never knew that the Awake supported the UN. It never came into question. There's a lot of information in this video . I may need to watch this one over again. Although I read the Awake I found the articles were informative and explained certain topics. And Questions from readers. The difference with other religions is that the Watchtower Society condemns all other religions as satanic and presents itself as the only channel of God's communication, while at the same time disregarding the core teachings of the New Testament and defaming those who expose the real truth as liars, instead of having the courage to openly and honestly admit their self-inflicted fallacy. In this respect, the Governing Body forces its members to ignore their lies in order to remain "in the truth" und thus continue to enjoy the favor of the Governing Body.

I was never baptized and left JW when I was 14 because of sexual abuse cover up I really thought I was alone but as I grew I still believe in Jehovah but the teaching in his name is cruel I still have one sister still in what I have learned was not by chance it was ment to be I can not express enough how guilty I felt for leaving my sister still talks to me the sadness that I feel for her and how she has been lied to we were warned of false teaching so the teaching did everything possible to keeping all with eyes wide and shut

Within the context of this video and the intent of the GB, a Gilead graduate of the mid 1980's who instead of being assigned to a foreign field was instead assigned to the US 🇺🇸. He/they were quite disappointed and when I had a temporary Bethel assignment I asked people about them...long story short in conversation with him he told me that part of the Gilead curriculum was to take a tour of the United Nations. I found that quite curious at the time 🤔 but again in the context of this video the intent of the Governing Body has been made quite clear and it existed for some time before they actually joined as an NGO. Amazing analysis, unfortunately most jws won't even see this out of the fear of "apostates" and many of those that do will probably find a way to block it out of their minds. For me though it just amazes me to think the governing body doesn't believe their own lies, that was always something i wondered this shed some light on this issue. Also i didn't know the revelation book sas studied four times, that's crazy, I remember studying it when i was a little kid and that was rhe only tkme we studied it in my life around 2007 i think.

I remember growing up in the JW faith due to my parents. In the 80's...they claimed the end was only days away, that Satan planted dinosaur bones in the ground to fool us, that rock music was evil. I also noticed that there was only a handful of the 144,000 (rement left alive from 1914.) Even back then I knew it was a cult. Today, after studying evolutionary biology, playing drums and doing albums with rock/punk bands, I'm a thankful atheist who has lived my life so far to the full. You don't need a 'fairytale cult' in your life to be a good person.

One of the first exJW YT channels I ever viewed was "ExGilead Missionary." He pointed out in his "Watchtower School of Gilead, an exclusive look!" video that one of the first things a new Gilead class does is tour the UN. This did not come as a complete shock to me since I had already learned of the WT's affiliation with the UN as a NGO. It only reinforced their hypocritical nature. As a child in elementary school, there was a school-wide fund raiser for UNICEF. I could not participate. I was only about 10 years old and I knew exactly why! You cannot tell me that the GB ever thought it was ok to become an NGO and their claim of "spiritual warfare" is preposterous! If this was the case, then every JW could pretend to be "worldly" just so as to blend in with the crowd and gain "inside" information. What an insult to individuals who have given up jobs and pensions from the government department of defense just so they could get baptized or who were brutally murdered for refusing to buy a political party card in a one party state, but I digress. ExGilead Missionary attended the 115th class of Gilead which was in 2003. So even after they removed themselves as an NGO, they continued to tour the UN. I wonder when this practice was discontinued or if they still take the Gilead classes on the tour.
