As someone who used to mod melon as an admin alongside MadG and the rest of that amazing staff team, i can agree that hohos had always talked down to us for making simple mistakes and would violently lash out at us in staff meetings and in DMs because it would "ruin" his reputation for looking like a bad owner. i was always uncomfortable with the way he treated other staff and being highly inappropriate in VC. The most vulgar comments that came out of his mouth, racist things like saying the n word countless times, degrading shit towards other people. it was highly disgusting coming from someone who i thought was a good person and had a high rep to hold, so i resigned from the team because it was getting tiring from having to deal with the bullshit he put us through and im so glad i did 🙏 this was an amazing video caleb and tysm for helping bring light into the situation ❤

you sir absolutely smashed it out of the park when it comes to editing. This server was doomed from the start however. Pay to win is a cancerous practice that Mojang themselves banned via their TOS. its why Ytbers Like Duper Trooper, Salc1 and many others started making videos about taking these kinds of servers down. But, back to the video you made, this is a winning editing style you got here. a little tweaking of how you present each topic you cover and i think you will make it big. Keep on improving man.

The P2W wasn't even really an issue (when it comes to "the downfall of the smp") It was just the lack of experience from the new owners, the lack of new updates and content and that one shitty og owner

I was also a sr mod on MelonSMP, and hohos was never short of a crazy flare.. i had worked with him years previously also on Chasecraft, avatarcraft, and minealong, he brought many servers down, and treated everyone disgustingly. i would always get accused of things because everyone wanted to believe him, and he had a thing where he would flirt with most of the females in the staff team, and even some out of it just to make himself better, i was removed because of "alligations:" of me starting a revolution against him, which led to my banning permanently. Im glad you made this video, it gives us justice!

oh man I used to be such good friends with hoho's back in 2020 I think we are still friends on snap chat. Him and his whatever group of partners he could grasp his hands on for business opportunities then would like literally copy and paste the same server layout just rebranding the name of the server, and as soon as those servers would begin to fail he just found a new group of partners that could get him the money he wanted. Funny enough, he just used a bunch of ranks bought from a block game server to buy himself a few 6 figure rides... what a life tho frfr! I staffed a few servers he managed here and there then upon figuring out this information I slowly got out of touch with him :P

As a player who nearly wasted 1 year of my life playing grinding this server achieving ranks 70k+ coins (of course as a free player) i think i wasted a chunk of my time for nothing, it made me addicted and at last it left me in a sense of regret. As for the reason of why all of the players left / leave the server was its "MEGA" reset of all its 3 most active servers " watermelon, apple, mango ( server names)" so they rested them all trying to make it a unified server they hyped up the new server but the only mistake they made was take all the player items (op items ) all there coins just my 78k coins were well over 500$ there were people with 300k in watermelon so overall top 30 players of 3 server alone just coins value were above 70k in value irl. Well now at least i dont get addicted in time-consuming game with no real meaning

Me and my friend (who we literally used to upload together on this smp) would play often. every day, home from school, usually with another couple of friends. every second on melon was fun, until the server reset, making us lose everything. all our kits, our ranks, money we spent on the server. the owner & the mod team were terrible, not dealing with scams, and even abusing players more often than not.

As a x-mod during melons start of the reset, there were some very shady things going. I was only a mod then left as well. Hohos and Dayton vanished, it was only when hohos left that Dayton made a message then went MIA. I loved the server, staying up almost till 3:00 AM to protect from dupers. I was probably the most active staff member during that time period, so was my manager who I became really good friends with. They told me more about Melon's past. As I spent more time there I uncovered more secrets that were not the greatest looks. I never new hohos personally but the way he acted to people on the staff discord was rude. We never had staff meetings, when I was there as people didn't care about the server. I now regret defending the server looking back how shitty it was.

As someone who plays melon it’s kinda sad because they had a realm called survival and I had 70days of playtime I was in top gems which is game money and top in kills and they just closed it a few days ago because survival wasn’t making enough money to have it still open. Being one of the richest players in MelonSMP, and the owner of /pw hell (an ocean monument made up of diamond and netherite)... I still remember the good old days.. While showing off my builds to other moderators and staff members- I remember hohos being the one who discouraged me.... I still remember those days when I recently bought the mystery sword (Sharp 10)... and showed it to my friends- and few days later... A god damn sharp 20, 25 and 50 swords were released. I still remember my broski dark_warrior from the server. Overall I had to quit cuz of the P2W stuff and after I rejoined an year later (April 2023)... The server went through a reset. Deleting my entire inventory and everything I did for the server. The thing that still remained was the rank I had (which I got donated for).... Thank your caleb for getting these old nostalgic memories back into my head. Good old days...
