The view-botting issue is very similar to the hacking issue on hcf Minecraft, because of view botting new streamers who aren't as big are practically forced into view botting to even have a chance. On HCF what killed the game mode and made it unplayable was the constant cheaters, everyone was cheating so you couldn't win without cheats.

this might sound like a wild idea but it make sense. kick should let streamer buy fake views, basically no need to bot urself or buy bots, u would just buy these view urs. kick model isn't based on ads they should treat views like all non ads model which basically bought by users, in model such that u pay to get better algorithm, this how freelance or upwork work. the best part is streamers are already doing so but it causing a lot of drama and fighting, its 3 birds in one stone.

It can be an aggravating factor, but there's plenty of people who will have a relatively big twitch following, or other streaming site following, but then almost no following on twitter or youtube. These places are fundamentally separated. But the chances of you having a large twitter following if you're a larger streamer is higher, as compared to someone with a high sub count on youtube. But that's just a gut feeling I have. I just feel like I've seen more streamers use twitter as a means of communicating information to a community, or maybe a reddit space, as opposed to youtube, where you'll just make an announcement video or message, since streamers don't really have much content in terms of persistent videos like youtube does. KZbin videos aren't subject to the same time sensitivity and scheduled and repeated notices about certain information that streamers are. This probably extends to streamers who stream on youtube too. people who watch streamers that stream on youtube are more likely to watch youtube in general, as opposed to streamers with followings on any other dedicated streaming content site.

6:12 So fx, someone like Hasan probably isn't viewbotting, but he doesn't have nearly as dedicated a fanbase as someone in the same field like Destiny, whose fans will boost the views of everything he appears in, and actively seek such content. Hasan features doesn't benefit from his large view count on twitch, because twitch viewers really don't translate into anything other than a large twitch viewcount, and maybe a large reddit presence. And this is the absolutely largest political streamer, so scale it down just a little bit for any average streamer, who doesn't stream about contentious topics with fanbases that aren't nearly as zealous and ideological as political fanbases, and I don't think you can accurately measure viewbotting with a lack of presence elsewhere. But this is only talking in relative terms. It's a different situation, if the difference is absolutely extreme. Like a 10k consistently viewed streamer does not have less than 10k followers on any other platform. anyone with 10k consistent viewers should at the very least have 10x that number of a following on any other given relevant platform, that they're posting anything else to.

the number of twitch streamers that view bot is insane. I often see streamers with 3-5k "viewers" that have less chatters than a 150 viewer streamer. Sometimes they're sponsored and they're definitely running ads. Twitch doesn't want to implode the platform so they don't do anything about it, but it's a house of cards with 90% view and sub botting and so is kick. If Asmon wants to look into this, he only needs to look into his own org and the streamers around him. Some of them are too dumb to follow the how to bot and not get caught guidelines. I'm talking 5k viewers with 10 messages a minute. Put 5000 people all in the same place like an event, imagine it, that's a gigantic audience to be sitting silent.

the problem with botting, IMHO, is up to the platforms to solve. Reason people bot is because of how their "algorithm" works, and since only the people at the top would get views, the only way to grow aside from some serious time management and a lot of research of other streamer's times and tons of youtube/tiktok promotions, would be to get bots, and honestly, might as well do all of it at the same time. This sucks because it cheats advertisers and all that, but honestly, I'm not gonna have the player for playing the game, they "game devs" need to change their own game for the players to not play it like that.

8:15 its not a bug Asmon, it is ad break, people are using twitch ad block that replaces current player with new one that opens in a background which doubles the view count for that person. You can test it by forcing ad break, look at viewer count when you push that button

When I streamed on twitch, I would use view bots. Just 2-4 bots, just to bump me up out of the 1-2 viewer section down on the bottom. When I got to 5 consistent viewers, I stopped it. I just wanted a few people to talk to and share the fun with. Eventually life caught up and I had to stop streaming, but if I ever get back into it I’d still do the same start.
