Through watchtowers own literature *watchtower* initiated the hype in regards to the *1975 debacle* . In the years to follow, watchtower, gaslighters extraordinaire, convinced the congregations that the 1975 failure originated with overly enthusiastic regular JW's. What a switch, a dodge. They had managed to make their members doubt their own realities - gaslighted. Thank you for another excellent video, Eric. Thank you Eric, from an ex-JW who's bible study teacher was MARK SANDERSON'S MOTHER. Ugh! I actually called the Kingdom Hall for a study, if you can believe it! Mark was just a plump, pimply-faced, early twenty-something man-child, but his mother worshiped the ground he walked on. When he came home for visits from Canada it was, "STOP THE PRESSES, MARK'S HOME!!" And he dominated every local meeting until he returned to Canada. Not that he was always teaching, but it was as if people were treating him like Jesus. All they were missing were the palm fronds. I was thinking... great! you're proud of your hometown boy and stuff, but aren't you taking it a little too far? Right before I got baptized his Mom told me, in hushed whispers, that Mark was " being called as one of the anointed". My internal "hmmm, this is weird" dialogue kicked in, but I had been searching for soooo long and no one but the witnesses even cracked open a Bible to answer my questions, so I fell for it for 15 years. I'm very much looking forward to your video on baptism.

One of the original members of this first “slave” was Clayton Woodworth. Clayton wrote part of “The Finished Mystery”. In his section, Clayton provides detailed descriptions of what it is like to be possessed by demons and have erroneous, misleading interpretations of scripture forced into your head like a water hose, BY these demons. See page 126 and 127 of the 85,000 edition of the book. Whose experience was Clayton describing? His own! At a convention in 1913, Clayton Woodworth gave a talk where he related his personal experience becoming possessed by demons while he was wrestling in his mind over “The Vow” that Charles Russel had asked the Bible Students to take. The transcript of this talk was published by the Bible students in the 1913 convention souvenir notes, the annual publication that was the precursor to the “Yearbook”. Clayton describes being deprived of of sleep by the demons, and using “automatic writing” to publish a book contesting Russell’s “Vow”. Joseph Rutherford also promoted the idea that his books were written via “automatic writing”, while also teaching outright that he was receiving messages from “Angels”. Spent hundreds of hours scouring hundreds of publications from the watchtower Society themselves finding the hard evidence of their spiritistic influences. Actually you have inspired me to show JWs a second way how to proof JWorg is a false prophet. Not only we can do it by examining the 140 years long line of their false prophesies (Deu 18:20-22), we can actually show that Jehovah had-have no plans to use any other prophet after Jesus (Hebr 1:1,2). So clearly anyone post-Jesus claiming to be a gods prophet is automatically a false prophet. (applicable also to Mohamed, book of Mormons etc..) Without a further need to examine his false prophesies. Nice, thank you Eric for this thought! By the way, I have to say how chic, handsome and full of life you look in this vid. Yes good point via scripture 👍 and when one analytically reviews the men who ran the Watchtower Corporation as its chief executive editors, ie, C T Russell, J Rutherford, you can see that these men were set upon themselves to create doctrines which would enhance the proliferation of the literature they published themselves. An act of intentional self promotion claiming to be Jehovah's witnesses and faithful servants, a pretentious disguise that was devised to empower themselves with the "Sovereign" power of god as it were. They even claimed that god had chosen them in 1919 as his earthly organization . In the end it was all devised to create power toward men who wouldn't haven't by themselves so they lied and lured in others who would support their lies and false teachings. In review of the JWS organization and the WTS/JWorg. one can see that its founded upon corrupt religious charlatanism promoted through literature proliferation. Ironically the most damming thing for a self proclaimed Christian to do in god's eyes is to be a false prophet as Revelation 20:10 says .... 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

There goes the very foundation of the problem with over 8 million Watchtower members who clearly have not thought through the doctrine of the "faithful and discreet slave". I must admit, I used to be guilty of it too, in my own church, and even as I have come to the realization of the importance of that, it is also a struggle to get my brethren to do likewise. Fortunately, the disagreements I have with my church doctrines are not over what I consider fundamental points that threaten one's salvation. Even so, I firmly believe that churches should teach what the Bible teaches and nothing else. We disagree on the Trinity (which is fine), but I am delighted to FINALLY hear an ex-JW admit that the "vindication of Jehovah's sovereingnty is NOT the major theme of the Bible." Amen! We disagree on other things, but here's why I have so much respect and admiration for you. Unlike most former Witnesses who are activists on KZbin, you continue to believe in God and in the Scriptures. Please don't ever lose your faith.

This never good enough mentality is so prevalent and it is so opposite of what Jesus wanted for his sheep. Jehovah condemned those who made cuts upon themselves. Leviticus 19 goes into that. Much of your argument is very good. Some discussion needs reasoned upon because Yahweh did say he wants his name declared in all the earth. Rom.9:17 I was. The notion that the JWs are non-trinitarian only because "Jehovah gave them the knowledge" is also a fallacy. Since for one, they're not the only non-trinitarian group of Christians, far from it. Two, they themselves didn't discover this fact, but people before them, such as: The early Adventists (mid-late 1800s) > Chistian Connexion (early-mid 1800s) > Stone-Campell Restorationists (early 1800s) > Second & First Great Awakening movement Christians (1700s) , the Congregationists (1600s), certain Anabaptist groups (1600s-1500s), and so on. All these groups were non-trinitarian, rejected hellfire, and the immortal soul, and I personally know several people even today who are still a part of or are from these historic groups, and have even shared fellowship with them. So their ideas were not directly fed to them by God, but was part of their 'inheritance' from a branch of many other ancestral denominations and movements before them who came to these truths themselves via Bible study, and these beliefs were inherited 'before' their acclaimed "appointment by Christ" in 1914-1919 (so before the date they claimed Christ took direct control to feed the congregation). The only unique beliefs JWs have which make them JWs, in contrast to these other churches and groups, are their doctrines like 1914, the FDS class, and two sheep class theology. But they will not allow their members to seek out or know that all these other groups exist, because it takes away from the "uniqueness of truth" the JWs claim to have all the exclusive access to.

I find that one of the best ways to understand God's dealings with humanity is to think of a father with an errant child. The child rebels and thinks it knows best. The child will no longer listen to the father's advice and counsel. The father realized that the only way to help his child to see the error in its thinking is to let it have its way. It pains the father to see his child suffering so, but he cannot end the suffering until his child comes to the realization that only by returning to his father can he have relief and joy. It's that old "free will". No way around it without robbing humans of their humanity. It seems we have to learn some things the hard way. Our heavenly Father isn't concerned about vindicating his sovereignty. That was never in question. He's concerned about teaching his children about love. "God is love." (1 John 4:8) It is only by understanding the love of God and learning to live that love in our dealings with others that we can become like God as Jesus is, and leave in peace with one another.

On waking up I realized we JWs had never read the Greek scriptures, as we had Genesis - Malachi. Of course we were to read at home and the later in the week the ORG would tell us what our assigned reading meant! I do not remember doing that with the Christian Greek scriptures? Since I have been reading these, I realize why? Oh we took a peak now and then if the talk was about the end of wickedness, we turned to Matthew Chapter 24 v 3 if the talk was to encourage obedience to the Faithful Slave we turned to Matt 24: 45-47 stop right there, don't read the next verses. When at the Memorial, we open our bible to Matt 26 v-26-28, not v 29 Luke v---, Mark v----. a couple verses in John Acts and Revelation. Our whole belief was built upon maybe 27 verses from the entire New Testament. If you keep reading the Gospel without Org guidance you can be in endangered to the point of praying to Our Heavenly Father Through our mediator Christ Jesus and receiving Holy Spirit. With tears running down your face and a smile you can not hold back you know you are in his Family. The Joy is amazing, Jesus our King, mediator and Savior will be with us if we ask your heavenly Father because Jesus was and is his plan! for Abraham's seed (little flock) all the way to us Gentiles (great crown of other sheep) not of that fold. Our Shepard brings us into One Fold, His Family! Please Read John, Acts and Galatians in many bibles (except NWT) and realize this is for all of US! I like the NIV New Testament. Pray to our Heavenly Father as Jesus told you to, talk to him and his son. talk openly and ask him anything and everything you need to know, ask for Holy Spirit from them. When you do this w/o fear you will not be able to stop smiling! get to know your spiritual father OBEY HIM! not greedy men. I talk to them anytime I need to make decisions, and I am always directed toward Jesus words in the new Testament. Praying for you now. Thats a great summary. Yes, watchtower keeps their followers tied in to the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) for a reason. Now that you mentioned it, I don't recall ever remembering the weekly school meeting/Bible reading ever being in the Greek Scriptures (New Testament). How sad they are kept out of the New Covenant. I recently spoke to a JW here on YT and he believed he was in the New Covenant; yet he failed to see how his own leaders/literature makes it clear that the 'New Covenant is for 'the anointed', not the regular JW's. How sad this situation; as they are missing out on the joy associated with this covenant. By the way, I too like the NIV translation; although in recent months, Ive started reading from the NLT version, and I love how easy it flows. As a side note, to the above, Ive just watched the March JW broadcast with a view to counting the times they say 'Jehovah', 'Jesus' and the 'org'; and keeping to a pattern, I noted Jehovah - 66 times; Jesus - 8 times; the org - 6 times. It amazes me to think how the Greek Scriptures place so much emphasis on Jesus and the importance of his name (Acts 1:8; Acts 4:12; 2 Cor. 1:20); and that his followers would be known as 'Christians'; yet watchtower seems to make an effort to go in the other direction (yes, again, back to the Hebrew Scriptures for their chosen name). All the OT prophecies, festivals/feasts and more, given to the Israelites, pointed forward to the arrival of the promised seed, to Jesus. And no wonder, for he is the King, Judge, Saviour, Mediator, and the one responsible for future life. One name, Jesus. Acts 4:12. Thank God, for Jesus.

The doctrine of the Trinity is true and there are literally tons of scriptures to back it up, but when you create a bible to reflect the doctrines you already believe that bible is not the word of God but rather the word of men. all who have ever altered God's word will answer for it. @wolfie8012 - Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, the Governing Body is counting on people to think that the winged angel is Jesus, but Jesus is never depicted in the Bible with wings. The image is very clear in that it is demonstrating Jehovah's channel is the Governing Body and not Jesus Christ, who is absent. If they feel they should show Jehovah the head of their organization, then there is absolutely no excuse for them to not show Jesus Christ who Jehovah has appointed as the head of the congregation and the sole channel of communication between God and his children on earth.

Witnesses for GOD, do not teach people against the deity of Christ; that they should not partake of the memorial emblems; that they are not sons of God; that they should shun their relatives who leave the organization; that they should trust the governing body completely. Think about it, please. Unless you believe that Jehovah is not the name of God, you need to correct that statement. You were one of the members of the Watchtower society. @watchtowerexamination I take your point, though I think our readers realize that when I say I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I am referring to the religious denomination only, not to my work of preaching the word of God. The fact I make these videos and uphold the sanctity of Scripture proves that I still bear witness for God, but of course, our Father's command is that we bear witness for his Son and our Lord. We are never commanded to be Jehovah's witnesses, only Jesus' witnesses. In doing that, I do demonstrate that the Bible does show that Jesus was and is divine, though it does not teach that he is God Almighty. That is one of the things that the Watch Tower Society got right and it is one of the reasons why they've been able to fool people into accepting their many exploitive false teachings. JWs look at most other Christian religions and see the trinity, hellfire, and the immortal soul as easy proof that they are all false, and quickly jump to the conclusion that the Organization must, by default, be true. They cannot see that all religion is false, because all religion, by definition, requires a person to submit to the will of men as leaders.

Each proof text that trinitarians use is either taken out of context or depends on a specific interpretation to be applied while ignoring any plausible alternative. On the other hand, all the scriptures that prove that Jesus is not God Almighty are clearly stated in Scripture but have been ignored in my discussions with trinitarians. Jesus is divine because he is BEGOTTEN by God.

Christ founded a Church and compiled the scriptures through that Church. The canon we use today is the canon established by a church council, one look through history makes things clear in that regard. If you say you believe the church fell away despite Christ saying hades would not prevail against it, and believe you got it right 2000 years later through scholarship somehow I would only say; does that not place you on an equal level with every self proclaimed pastor and church leader with their own way of seeing things? @@JKV84 I get it, I used a lot of scripture to deny the trinity in the past, it's something ingrained in you even as a JW. But the issue is when you read all the scriptures: John 17:5, John 8:58, John 18:6, John 8:14-26, Exodus 3:14, Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32, 1 Cor 1:31, Jer 9:24, John 20:28, Hebrews 1:6, Hebrews 1:8, Rev 22:13 - Just a few where Christ is equal to the Father, uses I AM, is worshipped, Paul references Christ as Jehovah, and where he is the Alpha and Omega, there's many more which can seem contradictory if there's one true God but also a person equal to him. The greater issue is when you consider where the scriptures come from, they didn't drop from the sky, they were compiled and canonized by the Church. How can you trust the church with the canon, but not theology? If you distrust the church, why is that, where does that come from? There's a lot presuppositions involved in denying the Trinity. All I'll say is that when I looked back to the past, to the Church Fathers, I found a wealth of information and sound doctrine, I understood the monarchy of the Father, I realized every objection has already been answered. It's up to you, but you'll miss out on a lot if you don't
