Back around the time stoney creek produced the state record crappie the dnr was doing a survey and got a large mouth that was 27" 13.5 lbs that was rumors to be found dead but no one ever caught it.

I admitt when i first saw "Exposing the Master Angler program " i thought this was going to be some kind of "scandal" type thing but was pleasantly surprised to see what you REALLY ment by "exposing" here.. Awesome Job on this my friend. Ive been monitoring this information myself for most of my adult life and it most certainly can be extremely helpful when targeting those "bucket list" fish. Lol 👍🏻 🎣

@@JCDropshot great overview of the Master Angler program. Growing up as a kid, that patch collection was an obsession. I wasn’t shocked to see that number one, given the vast amount of exposure to both Erie and LSC (not to mention the river). Great job on this! As far as part two, I’d like to see a breakdown by species for sure. I have a feeling the major fisheries (here in the tri-county area) will show numbers just because of the sheer number of anglers fishing them. I still hold true to the belief that the hidden gems reside to less populated areas to the north. Which begs to question if the sheer volume of anglers on the top producers don’t add to the totals because they increase the odds…it would be interesting to dissect that and see if that is a factor.

I have a Cottage in Ogemaw on Ausable lake it is a 60 Lake area fishing is fantastic, especially early spring bluegill, Croppie, walleye, bass, pike and red ear

I had a feeling Oakland County would be on the list MI grew up there oh a lake. Since I'm typically only fishing for musky when I'm on st Clair if I ever happened to catch a potential record there's no way I would kill it just to get the record. I'd take all the measurements I could and just have a replica mount made and release it.

The glitch on the website happened because there was multiple fish registered for that lake as master angler/ state record

Man I thought besides the patch there was something special for the biggest Master angler fish for the given year. I was always told this by the old timers. They must have gotten rid of it... Got another patch though I guess
