Dude these things are incredible invasive they’re like rats. We’re lucky we can use them for something like this, better than them going to waste. There’s a hunt happening in Florida because of how invasive and dangerous they are to the eco system. They eat everything.

Those are Burmese Pythons in Florida 😂 this is in Asia and surrounding areas and those are reticulated Python's that are native to the area. I honestly don't care what they do but get the facts right

The state of Florida says they are devastating the everglades eco-system. And then Florida restricts hunting the critters. GO FIGURE !

the native reticulated pythons lay 80 eggs and most survive. after a year old they are large enough to to kill most pets, and do, not to eat even, they kill pets and you find them laying in your yard, with the bite marks and musk left on the pet, i lost 26 cats alone all rescues to just one snake. these snakes do not run even when you try to catch them, their first instinct is to strike. i have had pets snakes growing up and have never seen anything as aggressive as a reticulated python here in the philippines. they are not endangered and have no natural predators as an adult. they wipe out entire small farms of chickens in one night, eating maybe three and just killing the rest. most people involved in the culling of the snakes is either because the snake is a pest or make less than 200$ USD monthly. there is also the issue that snakes are found after eating rats that have been poisoned. something has to be done with the snake, and it cannot be eaten. the smallest adult reticulated python here that has been culled is over 11 feet and weighed over 18 lbs, and was looking for food, had not eaten in a while. even after they are culled, they will constrict and strike for up to 3 hours. these are nothing like domesticated pythons. even local zoos can’t keep them for display as they consistently strike den managers and kill other zoo animals.

This biologist needs to study his facts better. Chickens are wild birds so that blows his information. Also he doesn't live with these snakes nor has his children playing near them. I think the population of these snakes needs to be thinned out there is an overgrowth of them

videos like this are really insulting, anyone that has experienced a wild reticulated python understands they are deadly predators. in the snake world a rarity as they kill not for food, but just because they can. smaller adult snakes are 11 feet on length, weigh over 18 lbs on an empty stomach and will strike and constrict for 3 hours after culled. these snakes also, unlike most have two lungs and can stay hidden underwater for a longer time than many other snakes. they are fast if they decide to flee, but most actually fight when approached. these don’t always lay in wait to strike, they see their prey and aggressively keep attacking, unlike most constricting snakes. these are no known natural predators to manage adult populations. unless the snake has been caught after being poisoned by eating a rat that had consumed rat poison, the entire snake is made use of. it is worse that people sit around and judge poor people for working for small income, in their air conditioned offices, sponsored by some NGO that waste so much of the donations they receive. stop posting online, go see the people struggling to survive in these economies, tell them in person you disapprove of their employment. why don’t you provide them with alternate incomes?

Wait if there's a European market for snake leather, doesn't that mean if Florida commercializes snake hunting enough, we could make a market for it in Germany. Since in Florida it's an invasive and dangerous pest there won't be as much of a conflict in selling the skin as it won't go to waste, and with a larger and easily accessed product it'll naturally remove the Indonesian python trade as it's rarer and a native snake thus you're harming the environment while with Florida you're saving it. At the same time with a smaller market there will be less of a value for Indonesian pythons thus helping the native population and environment. It's just a thought tho.

How are you going to try and convince someone that a python isn't dangerous when he lives in this country and knows exactly what happens. Ppl want to go based off studies but u can't convince me that they aren't dangerous. The teacher is scared for a reason

Don't kill them first. Cook them first. That way, their meat can feed millions of hungry children in this area regularly bitten and digested by these greediest predators of the world.

I don’t like snakes personally. But to kill them to make items for humans is really sad. The skins patterns are beautiful but leave them alone. Admire from afar. Man’s huge ego to gather “things” is disgusting.
