Thank you for being so real! My first year teaching was so hard that the stress put me in the hospital because I couldn't keep up with it & care for my own basic needs. I felt totally bamboozled by the instagram/YT teacher aesthetic like I was either tricked or I was doing something really wrong. Then I realized that every time I would go to the teacher bathroom, there was someone in there crying. It was so bad, but no one was talking about the reality of teaching at that time or supporting one another. It seems like so much has changed in regards to how teachers support one another & transparency about what is really happening! Thank you for your honesty and encouragement!!!

Thank you so much!! Teaching is hard! It’s a very common misconception to think that teachers just play with kids and only work until 3 and have so much time off etc. The truth is, it’s quite the opposite! We’re always on call for parents, we stress and worry about our kids ALL the time, we spend more of our own money then we make sometimes, and we are the complainant department for those extra special families. Don’t get me wrong it is a very rewarding job and work of the heart, but burn out is real! Your feelings are real and valid! Keep doing your thing girl and take care of you! You’re an amazing teacher and we all need support!

I love the transparency! Thank you for showing us how social media doesn't show the complete story (good or bad).

Love your honesty! I too fall into the trap of wanting to pretend everything is happy and perfect on social media.

I love how honest you are! I have my degree in interdisciplinary studies to become a teacher but during Covid-19 I decided to work with children at a learning center for a year and decided hmm maybe teaching isn’t for me. Now I want to work with computers..

Feeling lost and not knowing what to do, is so relatable to me. OMG! I went through that stress in the beginning of the year while trying to start my ESL/ Bill licensure. It was horrible! I almost gave up! Good thing I didn't bcs I graduated on May 7th, with a Master's of Science in Teaching and Learning: ESL and Bilingual. Hang on❤

Amen, Rosa!!! That is good news that you actually graduated instead of dropping out!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Unfortunately, my mom was in college to become a school physiologist as I’m starting in the fall to become an elementary school teacher like I’ve always wanted to since I was 4 like Fernanda, of course, but unfortunately my mom decided to dropped out of college. But I ain’t kicking this college journey out of my life even if I’m stressed or what! 😌

I love how you organize the locker. I actually screenshot it and try to arrange it like yours. Hihi. Btw, I can relate with how you feel with teaching. Sometimes I do feel burn out too but parents have hopes for me :') So I do my very best to balance my passion and my mental health now . Can't wait for school holiday and this pandemic to end.
