Cool stuff - for the last 3 yrs as a professional landscape photographer I use a GFX5os; the final image is made of 9 individual images which individually are made up of 3 exposures each.

Nice tutorial, aka a lot... I wonder whether you could share what workflow you would use when stitching is needed (360 panorama, for instance)... I have bought PTGui, already had LightRoom/Photoshop and was thinking to go for Aurora HDR... But the case is a I am newbie in all of them...

I don’t get why cameras do bracketing the way they do. My camera, like most, takes a center exposure, then another exposure one stop down, then another exposure one stop up... Aside from taking way too long, if there was anything moving in the frame it has different starting and ending points. Why do it that way? We live in the age of fast bus speeds and fast memory. Why not start the longest of the exposures at time zero, building up the exposure over time. As time is reached for the shorter exposures, send a copy of the exposure thus far to the buffer and then to the card. Example: you’re bracketing +/- 1 stop and the center exposure is 1 second. The shutter opens, the image starts to build in the sensor. At 1/2 second the sensor is copied as the -1 stop image, while the sensor continues to gather light. At 1 second another copy of the sensor data is made, this time as the centered image.

David: I haven't reviewed the comments to see if this question was already addressed. I've had problems with the HDR Efex program when using RAW files to create an HDR image. I thought it could work with RAW files.

Sam Lucero actually haven’t tried it, but if I have a raw file, then an hdr program isn’t necessary. In most raw converters (capture one, photoshop, Lightroom, etc), you can pull down the highlights or shadows captured just out of range. I’m only going into programs like hdr efex pro when I have multiple images that need to be combined since that can be difficult to do manually.
