I don’t think this had a mod of any sort, just a button replacement.

Express changed the call buttons and changed the indicators from lamps to led displays and added the thames valley controls to all lifts, the buttons on green lifts were replaced by otis, the buttons in blue lifts were replaced by liftworks services. All other lifts either had their original buttons or buttons replaced by express. The reason why blue and green had their buttons replaced was because when the centre was originally built the upper shops level at the north end was a bus station (which explains the different layout and style), in the late 90s the white car park was built and the bus station was re-located there, so the old bus station was turned into shopping centre (all the metalwork for the old bus station survived, if you go there and look at the ceiling you can see it all. also the outside building hasn't changed at all apart from the addition of a bridge with roof and the wall at the north end.). at the time the shopping centre was extended into the old bus station express lifts had were taken over by otis so otis made the green lift panel, but i dont know why blue was done by liftworks.

@@iDrinkYourMilkshake So when were these lifts installed? I thought the LED displays etc were original. If Express modernised them, I’m pretty sure they would’ve used their own controller logic. They never really used bought in equipment.

@@Lift.Tracker even though it was Thames valley the lifts still worked like an express lift. You press the button and the doors instantly started to close. The lifts were actually faster than the ones that replaced them. Thames valley control also gave these lifts a voice and a sound to replace the bell. The only lifts I remember where there was a noticeable VF drive was red but the red lifts were always weird, the red lifts are the only ones to have the “doors closing” announcement instead of “mind the doors please”. I managed to find the motor rooms and took a picture, the motors are still original and even though these lifts have been replaced the motor and logic cabinets are still there, strangely the power is still on in the orange lifts cabinet. The motor rooms are actually quite creepy, they are really big rooms but all the equipment is in the far corner and the rest of the room is empty.

@@iDrinkYourMilkshake As far as I know, the lifts were replaced into Schindler MRLs, weren’t they? So, they converted the lifts into MRLs, and left all the old Express equipment in the motor room?
@iDrinkYourMilkshake3 жыл бұрын
@@Lift.Tracker They were converted into schindler 5500 MRL lifts, non of the motor rooms have been touched. now that they have been replaced all the lifts are sadly the same as each other. The red lifts have had the biggest change as the motor is now at the top of the shaft when previously it was in a room at the bottom.
