This is my favorite Maithwaiter story he'd written and that was a grand adaptation Luca! For years, I've always wanted to see an interaction between Gordon and the miniature engines and it came true! I almost thought he'd be going like 'did someone clone me?' Kinda wish though he could've also said 'so you're one of those verra wee engines Donald & Douglas always talked about. Henry and James once thought you were magic.' and Bert replying 'Well those twins like to make things more mysterious.' Anyhow, this reminded me of Skarloey Remembers where a big and little engine on different railways talk about passengers and stuff - and Gordon and Bert do have a lot in common with the most unusual of things.

I’ve wondered before what it would be like if the Arlesdale engines got to meet the bigger engines on the Mainline due to not having much chance; Rex: Since he can get on with anyone he’d probably win anyone over where he’d likely be found charming by everyone (like Stepney and Stanley) and not feel fazed even if someone was rude to him about his size Bert: Would likely get upset by Gordon and James’ rude remarks Mike: Would get absolutely furious with Gordon James and Spencer for insulting his size (which wouldn’t help since they prefer passengers to goods while he’s the opposite) Frank: Would get mad if not just Gordon James or Spencer insulted his size but also others like Diesel ‘Arry Bert and Dennis Jock: Considering how much attention he’s already gotten from the passengers with his design and strength he’d surely feel important being in the company of mainline engines (like Oliver)

If not, that’s fine. 2. If this story was adapted in the TVS format, what season/series do you think would work best for adaptation? 3. What year do you think this story is set in?
