You are so funny teaching us , it’s really enjoyable watching your videos. Thank you so much for your work, I have been watching a few videos from you today, just watching not practicing yet. A few years ago I wanted to to learn crochet and I started with an afghan, what a mistake! A lot of mistakes and I stopped doing it. Now with your videos I feel that I want to try again, I saw your work and I love it ❤, very sophisticated and elegant. So if I want to do some of your works I need to go to email you for the pattern or you have videos of how to do the whole work?( meaning king of yarn number of the needle and the pattern) Thank you so much. Elena.

Please visit our website (www.expressionfiberarts.com/) for all of our patterns, some of them are available for free some you have to purchase. For most of the designs we offer youtube tutorials but usually these only cover part of the design so downloading the full written pattern is always your best option. I hope this explains it. Have a wonderful day! 💕

I just want to let you know you made my day with that 3 skein alternation tutorial. I have been puzzling over how to use my 3 skeins in a project. I was disappointed when I got them because 1 was very saturated in color while the other 2 had bare patches of white in them where the dye hadn't gotten to. This wasn't your yarn by the way. But now that I saw this tutorial I can make sure that those bare patches get evenly distributed throughout the project. Thank you so much!

Are you talking about the tails that occur when you add or a cut a color? You'll eventually weave those in just like you do at the CO and BO edge. Some people wait until they're finished to do that. Some do it along the way if the tails are getting in the way.

Hi Ewa, thank you for your question. I'll do my best to help. I'd alternate with 2 skeins and the best spot to do it is probably under the arm along the side. it should be least visible there. I hope this helps. Have fun knitting your Creery sweater. 💕

Hi Marin, thank you for your comment. The way of alternating skeins is the same in knitting and crocheting. We have another tutorial that shows how to alternate/change colors every other row in crochet (kzbin.info/www/bejne/on-Xd615p8x_d7c&lc=UgwuiVl6p9CiMdihGvp4AaABAg) and that might answer your question a bit better. The depiction of how to work with 3 alternating skeins was helpful as you illustrated it, but do you happen to have a video that shows what it looks like with yarn on the needles? I was also wondering how you advise to blend skeins when you have, say, 9 or 10 to work into a sweater. Is there any kind of guideline about which skeins to mix throughout the sweater, and would you save partial skeins to make the sleeves, for example?
@ExpressionFiberArts3 жыл бұрын
Andrea, if you're working with 9 or 10 skeins, I'd still alternate 3 at a time. Anything beyond that is usually not necessary. You could reallllly blend all the skeins if you wanted by shifting from 1 skein to another (switching it out entirely for a new skein), before finishing the 3 skeins, this way you're incorporating many different skeins but still only working with 3 at a time. I hope that helps.
@andreamiller62003 жыл бұрын
@@ExpressionFiberArts This definitely helps! I was thinking maybe like a painter and wondered how to group the current 3 skeins to work with out of the set, is there any advice about whether to blend the lightest with the darkest, and so on and so forth across all the skeins?

Probably a silly question but I am a new crocheter - how do you keep the three skeins from tangling/twisting as you turn your work?
@ExpressionFiberArts3 жыл бұрын
Jennifer, great question! As you turn each time, just make sure your skeins/cakes are not getting twisted around each other and adjust as needed before working that row.
@shahilagh2 жыл бұрын
What if you alternate every stitch or so?
@ExpressionFiberArts2 жыл бұрын
You could do that, but it would use up a lot more yardage because you'd be carrying one yarn behind the other throughout, rather than just up the side, which would also make a thicker texture.

Hi Yasemin, we have the following video: blog.expressionfiberarts.com/2014/09/26/how-to-change-colors-in-knitting-or-crocheting/ that shows how to change colors in crochet. For alternating skeins you will just redo this after 2 rows. I hope this makes sense and is helpful. 💕

A three (or more) skein method that only uses two balls at a time: Alternate skeins 1 and 2 as Chandi shows, until you've knit 50% of each skein by weight. Cut away ball 1 and alternate skein 2 and skein 3 until skein 2 is all used up. Bring back skein 1 and alternate with skein 3. Or if you have a larger project, use the last 50% of skein 3 with the first 50% of skein 4, etc.
