That analogy about the artist was great! Thank you for that perspective. I understand that God created me perfect and that His opinion is the only one that matters but I’m still struggling on how to really let go/heal. I thought I had healed from my mother wounds. She reached out to me last week and i immediately drew back in every way. I had found a custody order from 25 years ago that validated “this really happened” and had family reveal some new info that I’d been wondering about. God was gracious enough to show me that I have a lot more healing to do but not sure I know how or where to start.

I have family that act out with food. Overeating is another way folks anesthetize. I find we often talk about addiction in the way of drugs, alcohol and sex but food and overworking (workaholics) kill us physically and spiritually as well. I pray all the chains of addiction are broken 🙏🏾

Nona, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you and specifically your mom's response. Were there laws in place to protect victims of sexual abuse? Was your mom's boyfriend registered as a sex offender as a result of being arrested for abusing you? Did he have a parole/probation officer? It sounds like the Justice system failed you, but God did not Fail you! I'm grateful for your courage and I pray that God will continue to use you to set others Free!
