Thanks for sharing, this helped me make the final decision to get an Osmose :)

I'm incredibly fascinated by the expressive possibilities of this keyboard, which makes me interested to buy one, but I'm hesistant because so many of those factory presets have such a cheesy circa-1990 "general midi 2" sound. Is it just because of the taste of whoever made the factory bank? Or does the sound engine just inevitably sound like that? Anyways, thanks for sharing. I continue to ponder this instrument.

Thanks for your message. I think I’m a sucker for these sounds. It also ships with more classic and experimental synth presets. But that’s not my taste. So I think there are sounds for everyone. You can also program your own but the plugin is pretty overwhelming.

@@MauritsBoegman would you consider making a video showing the experimental synth presets ? thanks for the demo, it is really good

I am a drummer not a keyboard player. I have one and this is allowing me to play the stuff in my head. i dont mean the bending stuff it is awesome, but the sensitivity is insane. this is a new instrument, So a lot of the presets are being played. there are macros to change the sounds a lot on the keyboard. then there is the sound engine on the computer that could keep you learning for probably the rest of your life. the expressive possibilities of this keyboard are insane.

I don't have one (yet), but as every synth, the engine will have some kind of a signature sound. Fortunately, the Osmose is also capable of being an MPE controller. E.g. there's videos of people who hooked it up to their analog synths (Deckard's Dream, OB-6), if you're more into that sound.

@@rollelagrange5708 You probably already saw it but there is an "Artists meet Osmose" video with Jean Michelle Jarre where he plays a few experimental patches, also routing the osmose to external hardware.. but the seed is there. And you get also a masterclass on concrete music 😆

It’s funny but many solo sounds are reminding me times when we players from Greek Turkish Balkan Arabic music where using Korg trinity’s v3 with moss board or triton’s with moss to make these kind of sounds especially bow and wind instruments sounds . Who thought that one day we would have a true physical modelling synth dedicated to solo with a keybed of this class to bend etc.. Amazing. I think I’ll buy it.

Nice. What kind of power supply does it use. Just wondering if it might work of a 12v portable power supply. Is it very heavy to carry?
@MauritsBoegman Жыл бұрын
It comes with an adapter. It’s not super heavy but has a good weight. I’m looking for a soft case in the future. The keys are very soft and you have to get used to them but they respond very‘predictable’. So playing feels natural.

Are those sounds factory presets or vst?
@MauritsBoegman11 ай бұрын
All presets from the internal sound engine. No editing, no extra effects or processing.

I also think a lot of the sounds sound organic and it’s a real pleasure to play this instrument.

Sad that we can’t really create sounds,like without the use of computer,just by menu diving. To me it seems like a preset synth like was the dx7 witch was super hard to program.
