Oh my goodness, all this AND free alliteration?? You spoil us! 😁 I have thoroughly enjoyed the cerebral challenge of your videos, meaning that I feel like each time I watch you, I feel challenged to look deeper into my own motivations and question my perceptions. I never considered the 'why' of what I liked about art or why I like some photography and not others on as deep a level as I do now. As a hobby photographer with no training, I am consistently blown away by how much more there is to learn. It could be overwhelming but the way you share your knowledge is like being a toddler with a pack of 4 basic colors that was happy scribbling away suddenly given a pack of 120 crayola colors -- I'm dazzled! We had snow here in Yorkshire too and I spent a lot of time out in it with my camera. Above 1000 feet it was proper snow, below that it was a bit slushy. One big difference was that it was blowing a gale here, at all elevations! Thanks for your efforts this year and I’m pleased that your channel is growing. You are appreciated! Hi Alister, thanks for a great video on how you do your fine art prints. I've noticed that a number of photographers who do limited edition prints do a final step the adds considerable complexity to the process - sealing the print with Print Shield or similar. The problem as I see it, is that if I don't do it, then I am offering an inferior product, and this will get reflected in the end price. Typical of the Limited Edn 'game' is that you have to make the decision, and then stick with that - You can't start offering sealed prints (once I figure out how to do it successfully) halfway through a run.

Really enjoyed watching your process for printing -- recently started trying this as well with a canon Pro-10 and it's somewhat reassuring to hear that I'm not alone when it comes to making lots of test prints. I heard you say you use a smaller size for the test prints, but do you also make use of a more economical of their paper options when going through the refinement process? Look forward to seeing what's to come in 2021!

Yeah, I'll print small on A4 and can get a few test prints on one sheet. It's really about nailing the overall brightness, colour and contrast.

I’ve been wanting to focus on printing more (mainly as a means to improve my photos) any suggestions for utilizing soft proofing & color management when sending files off to a lab for print? Glad it was helpful! - The only way to be 100% is to get the printer profile and paper profile from the Lab. Everything else is just guesswork. At the very least you should be soft-proofing with the generic paper profiles, but each printer is different.

Not much difference really, I regularly flick between Lightroom and Photoshop for printing, depends on the image.
