I must say a hearty thank you for the help. I've watched to a few other videos on here by people who says that they know to unlock my screen but none of them worked. I followed your instructions, the only difference is that I didn't have to do a factory reset, it only asked me to key in a new password, but your advice about keying in random numbers worked after about 5 tries. hold power and volume down key for 25 sec when powering on it will then go into manufacturer mode from there you can factory reset

Tough! If you can't recall the PIN then what you want is irrelevant. Almost everything you had on there will be wiped, but can be reinstalled after registering the Kindle again to your Amazon account.
