Expride A vs B - is it WORTH to upgrade?

Informative video Chewy! I was able to get the Expiride A 6'10" med. cast for $189.00 new and I love it. I just can't bring myself to spend $300.00 and up for my rods. There are plenty of rod companies making really good rods for much less. I do however spend the bigger money for my reels, especially JDM at really good prices.

Right on! It becomes a challenge spending so much $ on ONE rod. Rods are so good, once you already get over that $100 price point these days. Lot of companies are being more competitive with their products. We are definitely living in the golden age.

The old shimano lifetime over the counter warranty was awesome. I only had to use it once when the rod just snapped but it was first trip my second season. If you know someone with the same rod in the A or B series opposite to yours. I would love to see weights A vs B in same model. I have a hard time going with rods over $200 with a 1 yr warranty.

I personally think the B is more sensitive, i could feel a bass looking at my swimjig 😂also it comes with a bait keeper now.

Hey Kong - I think that the expride is a better rod in terms of performance however, the victory is a great choice due to warranty. Can't go wrong with either one!

This rod is a 7ft medium. What are you planning on using it for? I have also heard great things about the 72ML is also a great rod.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately mostly carp, redfin, cod and barra. But hope to use it beach fishing for whiting, flathead and snapper. Have just bought a 3000hg Miravel to test out on my wife's Raider. What Expride and reel(ONLY Shimano) would you recommend. Thank you. Keep up the great service

No they are not worth upgrading to. They both feel the same with the Expride B being a bit lighter. For me, there is no sensitivity gain.

I agree that it’s not worth upgrading. Keep the A if you have it. If you buy it new for the same price, then buy the B.

Expride B’s seem to be faster action in the spinning rods for me then the A’s
